Actors Crispin Glover ('Willard') and Martin Klebba ('Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End') have signed up for the David Grovic helmed crime thriller 'Motel'. The Red Granite International project, which already has John Cusack ('1408') and Robert De Niro ('Red Lights'), on board is now in production and will be directed from a script originally penned by James Russo, with rewrites co-written by Paul Conway and director Grovic. This will be the second time Glover (below) and Cusack appear together on screen following their appearances in 2010 time travelling comedy 'Hot Tub Time Machine'. Dominic Purcell ('Prison Break'), Rebecca Da Costa ('The Firstling'), Sticky Fingaz, Theodus Crane, David Shumbris and Danny Cosmo are also reported to be starring. Check out the plot info below. »
The story centers on a hitman (John Cusack) who is hired by a famous mob boss (Robert De Niro). The assassin realizes he has to fight his way through a cadre of other dangerous people who were also hired by the mobster to convene at a shady motel, and then teams up with a woman to plan his escape. No details were given for Crispin Glover or Martin Klebba's roles. Dominic Purcell, Sticky Fingaz, Rebecca Da Costa, and David Shumbris also star.
David Grovic is directing from an original screenplay by James Russo, which was rewritten by the director and Paul Conway. Production is already under way, although no plans for release were announced.
