Keith Meets Mick, Writes Adorable Letter

12 April 2012 10:16 AM, PDT | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Letters Of Note has a wonderful find up today from the depths of Keith Richards' autobiography "Life," a letter an 18-year-old Richards wrote to his aunt describing a cool new friend he made who's "got every Chuck Berry record ever."

"You know I was keen on Chuck Berry and I thought I was the only fan for miles but one mornin' on Dartford Stn. (that's so I don't have to write a long word like station) I was holding one of Chuck's records when a guy I knew at primary school 7-11 yrs y'know came up to me. He's got every record Chuck Berry ever made and all his mates have too, they are all rhythm and blues fans, real R&B I mean (not this Dinah Shore, Brook Benton crap) Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Chuck, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker all the Chicago bluesmen real lowdown stuff, marvelous. »

Kathy Griffin Sounds Off On 'Kathy'

8 March 2012 9:02 AM, PST | Huffington Post | See recent Huffington Post news »

Move over, Cher and get ready to share the spotlight, Madonna. There's a new mononymous diva in Hollywood: Kathy. "We don't need the Griffin anymore, honey," Kathy said. "It's 2012 -- they know it's me."

Yep, Kathy Griffin is moving on up since "My Life on the D-List," the Bravo reality show that earned her two Emmys and a couple of notches on the Hollywood totem pole. After six seasons of "D-List" and 13 Bravo stand-up specials to date (with two more on the way this year, she said, "like a damn fool"), now she's got a new pop culture talk show to solidify her spot on the B+/A- list.

"Kathy" (premieres Thurs., April 19, 10 p.m. Est) is a one-hour weekly talk show that lets Griffin rant about anything and everything, whatever's on her mind, from celebrity to politics. She might sometimes be accompanied by her wine-loving mom, Maggie, and she »

Dial Back the Date!: February 28 is Like Rain On Your Wedding Day, and "Lord"'s A Leaping!

29 February 2012 10:36 AM, PST | AfterElton.com | See recent AfterElton.com news »

February 28 usually ties off our grim second month, but this year we suffer one more day in February's bleak tundra. Let's warm up with some tidbits about DNA, basketball, the master of '50s musicals, and the singer-songwriter who has one hand in her pocket, and the other on, oh, probably a Buddhist urn right now.

1883: The first vaudeville theater opens in Boston, Massachusetts. Over 120 years later, we're still talking about the overwhelmingly popular concept of blackface. Sigh. We even use the word "blackface" to describe things that don't qualify as blackface, like Billy Crystal's impersonation of Sammy Davis, Jr. at the Oscars. Not blackface. It may be in poor or weird taste, but it's not a minstrel show. Now, that crazy crap that Roger Sterling tried out on Mad Men? That's blackface. Ohhhh, yes it is. Always nice when Don Draper gets to tell someone else, "You're a mess. »

Predicting the Oscars: 'Crystal' Clear Winners?

21 February 2012 3:03 PM, PST | Moviefone | See recent Moviefone news »

There are some givens for this Sunday's 84th Annual Academy Awards telecast: Billy Crystal will likely slay it with his usual humorous monologue and "safe" appeal; Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close star Max von Sydow will continue his silent streak by not winning Best Supporting Actor, and Miss Piggy and Kermit will make for the evening's best presenters. Aside from that, the telecast should offer more surprises than usual. Sure there are slam dunks like Rango taking home Best Animated Feature, and The Artist will probably win big in most major categories, but I suspect a bunch of upsets in the acting categories. Here are my predictions for how the night will play out in every category. On a related note, I'm hoping Melissa McCarthy wins Best Supporting Actress for Bridesmaids. I think Octavia Spencer has this in the bag, and she deserves it, but McCarthy's win could help land more »
