‘The Walking Deceased’ DVD Review

19 July 2015 2:24 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Stars: Tim Ogletree, Joey Oglesby, Dave Sheridan, Troy Ogletree, Sophia Taylor Ali, Jacqui Holland, Mason Dakota Galyon | Written by Tim Ogletree | Directed by Scott Dow

The Walking Deceased follows a group of survivors from all walks of the apocalypse – an idiotic Sheriff with definite coma-induced brain damage, his hardass son, four squabbling friends forced to survive this zombieland together, and a lonely zombie who just needs love to fully regain his warm body. They all leave their once-safe hideout in search of the rumored Safe Haven Ranch, a refuge untouched by the zombie virus that has ravaged humanity. But despite the comforting name, they discover that this sanctuary may not be as welcoming as advertised.

Ok, so if you haven’t gathered by the title or by that synopsis, The Walking Deceased is a spoof of the zombie genre – more particularly of the fantastic Zombieland, AMC’s The Walking Dead »

DVD Review – The Walking Deceased (2015)

The Walking Deceased, 2015.

Directed by Scott Dow.

Starring Tim Ogletree, Joey Oglesby, Dave Sheridan, Troy Ogletree, Sophia Taylor Ali, Jacqui Holland and Mason Dakota Galyon.

Synopsis:

A police officer wakes from a coma to discover that the zombie apocalypse has changed the world as he knew it. Sounds familiar…

You generally know that an idea has peaked when the spoofs and parodies start appearing; the problem with the zombie genre is that arguably the first comedic take appeared 30 years ago with Return of the Living Dead and has shown little sign of letting up, especially now anybody with a computer and a graphics programme can seemingly knock something vaguely passable together to keep Asda customers happy.

Primarily riffing on AMC’s The Walking Dead, The Walking Deceased also takes pot-shots at Zombieland, 28 Days Later, Shaun of the Dead and the inescapable Dawn of the Dead as it follows Sheriff Lincoln (Dave Sheridan), Chicago (Joey Oglesby, »

Watch the trailer for The Walking Dead spoof The Walking Deceased

25 June 2015 7:27 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Ahead of its UK release next month, Signature Entertainment has released a trailer for The Walking Deceased, which as you may have guessed from the title is a spoof of AMC’s hit zombie series The Walking Dead.

Starring Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie, Horrible Bosses) and Joey Oglesby (Prison Break) this hilarious spoof of The Walking Dead will transport you into the land of the living dead. It rips the flesh off the spoof genre and infects it with a virus too hilarious not to spread.

The story follows a group of survivors from all walks of the apocalypse – an idiotic Sheriff with definite coma-induced brain damage, his hardass son, four squabbling friends forced to survive this zombieland together, and a lonely zombie who just needs love to fully regain his warm body.
