Well my friends it is that time again. God Country is back in our lives and it is back with a thundering crash. So last issue set up the relationship between Emmet Quinlan and his son, whose wife is not exactly pleased with having to look after the Alzheimers stricken old man.

Emmet Quinlan has awoken and he remembers everything! After being caged in his own body for a number of years with this heinous condition, everything returns to Emmet when he wields a God like sword with immense power. However with great power comes a whole bunch of people that want what you have. God Country #2 Sees Emmet visited by one such God who believes him not worthy enough to shoulder this immense burden. »

Image Comics, you know the company right?? The guys behind the smash-hit The Walking Dead and Southern Bastards amongst many, many, others that I am currently forgetting. Well Image are celebrating 25 years in business this year and have decided the best way possible to celebrate the fact would be to bring you variant covers of all there greatest hits. Calm down all you comic book completionists there will be plenty of choice however the event will only be taking place through the month of February so get your pull-list sorted.

Image Comics unveils ten more 25th anniversary homage variants

Earlier this month Image Comics announced that it is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a series of homage variants, commemorating popular issues from its back catalogue. The announcement came with a look at the cover for Deadly Class #26, paying tribute to Cyber Force #1 [see here], and now we’ve got a further ten; check them out here…

On Wednesday of this week Image Comics dropped a new title on us called God Country and of all the books I read this Ncbd this one really got me excited – for a refreshing story I can sink my teeth into. It also helps that writer Donny Cates (BuzzKill, The Paybacks) has hit the ground running at a hundred miles an hour and leaves you with aching blue-balls till the next issue.

God Country #1 starts with somewhat of a slow burn when our creator Donny Cotes shows us that, okay, this is a real world situation with some real world problems.
