Anyone who watched the Zootopia documentary (which is streaming for free on YouTube) will know that the movie was originally a much darker one. There was a whole subplot about the film’s predators being forced to wear “tame collars” that delivered electric shocks when they got too emotional. It was all meant to be a metaphor for the ways in which minority groups are often forced to keep their emotions in check lest they be seen as a threat by the dominant culture. It’s shockingly dark stuff, which is why it was eventually cut from the movie. But it turns out there’s still enough tense material left in the final version of Zootopia to allow CineFix to recut it as a gritty crime thriller.
Gone are the cheery Shakira songs and the film’s colorful aesthetic. In their place, the trailer reimagines a cutthroat predator vs. prey »

“I remember when I saw him at the meeting at NBC, I was instantly very taken by him ’cause he was definitely not your typical country artist,” Levine told People recently on set of NBC’s hit singing competition show. “He was not a cookie-cutter guy, and the second we met, we were friends. All of the bulls— that we do comes from a place of love.”
Alicia Keys — who’s back as a coach for her second season — was also pleasantly surprised by Shelton. »

This is Tubefilter's first U.S. YouTube chart in a couple of weeks. That's because YouTube stats have been out of whack over the better part of the past month.
First, nearly every single channel in the Top 50 saw it's week-over-week view count increase somewhere between 100% to 300% due to some kind of bug with YouTube's lifetime view count display. That increase messed up the metrics, as did the resulting corrections that removed the erroneous views from nearly every top channel on YouTube. Next, there was a subscriber count glitch that over-counted channel unsubscriptions. Though the glitch was just superficial (and not actually unsubscribing random viewers), it still screwed up the daily and weekly subscriber counts of channels on the world's largest video sharing site.
Things appear to be back to normal, now, which is why we're getting back to our regularly-scheduled programming with Tubefilter YouTube charts. So, without further context. »
