Finding Fanny is an upcoming comedy which has been directed by Homi Adajania (famed for Cocktail and Being Cyrus). Starring Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor in the leading roles, the film also has legends Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia and Pankaj Kapur in supporting roles. The film is based on a journey where the five ‘oddballs’ set out on a journey to find Stefanie (Fanny) Fernandez, who is the long lost love of Ferdie (played by Naseeruddin Shah). With special appearances from Ranveer Singh and Anjali Patil, Finding Fanny is scheduled for release on 12 September and hopefully it should be a film full of fun and adventure. The music has been composed by Mathias Duplessy and Sachin-Jigar. So does Finding Fanny (an album with only three songs) live up to our expectations? Read on to find out!

Directed by Homi Adajania (Being Cyrus, Cocktail), one of the films that really has us intrigued is Finding Fanny, a Goa-set tale that stars Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, along with veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, and Pankaj Kapoor with a special appearance by Ranveer Singh.

The film, which releases on September 12th, tells the story of Five Goans, who set off on a road trip in search of an old postman’s childhood love, Stefanie “Fanny” Fernandes, though nobody knows whether she’s alive or dead or just a figment of someone’s imagination. However, the friends get lost, and the journey – originally intended to take 20 minutes – instead takes one and a half days. If you’re looking for love…get lost!

We have your first song from the quirky Finding Fanny, titled ‘Fanny Re’, the peppy track was composed and sung by Mukhtiyar Ali.

Om Puri’s Long ‘Journey’

8 August 2014 6:21 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

“Fat noses have no place in the Hindi film industry,” Om Puri is fond of saying. “But it is not so in the West — otherwise Anthony Quinn would have never been an actor.” Puri certainly nose — make that knows — of what he speaks. When he was starting out as a film actor in the 1970s, his own mighty, bulbous proboscis seemed as sure an impediment to stardom as the pockmarked face that surrounded it, the vestige of a childhood bout of smallpox that nearly killed him (as it did six of his seven siblings). Yet that very face — weathered and wise, a face of experience — has gone on to become one of the most recognizable in Indian cinema and a familiar presence on movie screens around the world, too.

Now it is front and center in the new Disney/DreamWorks movie “The Hundred-Foot Journey,” in which Puri stars as Papa, »

Ranveer Singh did Finding Fanny cameo for free

30 July 2014 8:38 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Speculations are on a rise stating that Ranveer Singh, who is a good friend of Deepika Padukone, decided to do a cameo in the English language film Finding Fanny because Deepika is playing the female lead in comic caper. However, denying all these rumours, Homi Adajania has a different story to tell. Ranveer Singh will be playing the role of Deepika Padukone's dead husband. Since the role is minuscule, Ranveer Singh decided to do this special appearance without charging any money for it. Homi Adajania reveals the story behind him playing the role of Gabo in Finding Fanny saying, "Ya! Ranveer is a friend man, so he did it for a laugh! We were sitting around and I was telling him the story of Finding Fanny and he said I'll play Gabo (the character) - he was laughing but was dead serious." He further added, "I told him that »

The quirky and unconventional trailer of Finding Fanny has captured people's attention and the growing buzz about the film has inspired Homi Adajania to make slightly different English version that caters to the foreign audience's taste. The filmmaker has decided to rope in Nick Moore to edit the English version of the film, so that the foreign audiences, who watch the film, will understand it better. Homi also maintained that Nick's version will not be a complete re-edit and the difference between the English and hindi version would hardly be about two-three minutes. However, he revealed that the English version will be less farce and quite bizarre compared to the Hindi one. Produced by Fox Star Studios, Finding Fanny stars Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Kapoor among others and it releases on September 12 worldwide. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is not Shashank Khaitans debut film

15 July 2014 9:50 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

For all those who felt that Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is Shashank Khaitan's debut film, this news will be a bit of a shocker as his debut film was Sherwani Kahaan Hai, a film which never saw the light of the day.

When Bollywood Hungama spoke to this soft-spoken director, he was sweet enough to accept this. He said, "Yes, Sherwani Kahaan Hai was indeed my debut film, which I made it with a group of my friends from Subhash Ghai's Whistling Woods. The film mostly starred newcomers like Pavail Gulati, Aahana Kumra (who are now acting in Big B's Yudh) and others. There were also cameos by Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah. The film was made on a small budget. We tried our level best to release the film, but couldn't manage to do so."

Revealed Why Varun Dhawan got drunk for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhanias climax

15 July 2014 3:58 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

Move over, Naseer. Varun Dhawan is now practicing what Naseeruddin Shah preaches. Method acting. The young actor pulled out all stops-including the one uncorking the alcohol bottle-to lend authenticity to his sozzled scene. Director Sriram Raghavan has introduced Varun Dhawan to the painful pleasures of method acting. For two of his important dramatic sequences in new-director Shashank Khaitan's Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (Hskd), Varun has attempted the acme of authenticity and a level of realism that none of his contemporaries can dream of. The last time a major star actually got drunk for a film was when Shahrukh Khan, who normally abstains from alcohol, took to alcohol for the drunken scenes of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Devdas. Now Varun, who is rapidly acquiring a reputation for going all-out for his characters, actually hit the bottle while doing a lengthy scene for Hskd. Since Varun was off alcohol, the sudden indulgence hit him hard. »

Let us play the “Name Game”, shall we? Since we all are part of the experience here at the entertainment website known as Sound on Sight maybe we should pay homage to our online destination by celebrating it in an unconventional manner? Specifically, we can recognize Sound on Sight by acknowledging movie names that contain the words “sound” and “sight” in their titles.

However you may perceive this experimentation as being rather gimmicky and silly please realize that this movie column is also a means to recognize a few movie titles that are unfamiliar or perhaps a first-time discovery to some of you out there that never heard some of these cinematic selections. There may be a couple of well-known films in the bunch but collectively the features being mentioned in Sound on Sight: Top 10 Random “Sound” and “Sight” Movie Titles are aptly presented based on the theme at hand. »

Well, if we didn’t know that Ranveer Singh had posted this picture himself we would not have guessed that this was him! Check out his look in Finding Fanny!

Ranveer plays Deepika Padukone’s husband, well 15 minute husband since he choked on the day of their wedding. His look certainly fits in with the wacky characters that make up the world of Homi Adajania’s Finding Fanny. The film narrates the story of 5 odd balls played by Arjun Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, Naseeruddin Shah and Pankaj Kapur; who set out on a road trip to find love.

About the cast of the quirky film, Homi said “Love makes normal people do nutty things. But what if they were already a little nutty to begin with?
