- Tony Serra is a living embodiment of the anti-establishment. After graduating from UC Berkeley's Boalt School of Law in 1961, Serra began his career as a deputy district attorney for Alameda County. After only one year, he grew disillusioned with the justice system and became a private defense lawyer. He has become notorious for representing - and winning - cases on behalf of the downtrodden: drug dealers, Hell's Angels, Black Panthers, even the Symbionese Liberation Army. His defense of a Korean man wrongfully convicted in a Chinatown gang murder inspired the film 'True Believer.' Ever the bohemian, Serra ties his hair in a ponytail and wears a silver African bracelet. He owns no property and doesn't have a checking account. His most expensive possession is a 1970 Cadillac with rusting fenders, missing trim and a drivers-side door that won't open. He takes most cases for free and his estimated net worth is only around $1000. As a tax resister opposed to military expenditures, he has not paid taxes for two decades.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
