How Jason Segel Met Suri's Mother? Not really. Ok Magazine recently reported that Jason Segel and Katie Holmes have been casually dating after meeting on the set of his now-concluded sitcom How I Met Your Mother back in 2011, when Holmes, 35, filmed a guest-starring role. "The story is completely untrue," Holmes' rep Leslie Sloane tells Us Weekly. "The two have not spoken since she appeared on How I Met Your Mother." Had the romance been a bonafide one, Holmes would have been the second Dawson's Creek alum [...] »
Sony Pictures Entertainment has closed a $200 million slate deal, co-financed by LStar Capital, a credit lending affiliate Lone Star Funds, and Citigroup. Ben Waisbren, formerly of Virtual Studios, was the broker behind this deal, according to sources. Andrew Gumpert and Stefan Litt worked the deal on behalf of Sony.
The multi-year agreement closed Tuesday, and the $200 million includes both equity and bank debt to be applied to Sony’s upcoming slate including “22 Jump Street,” with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill, “Think Like A Man Too,” “Sex Tape,” with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel, “The Equalizer” with Denzel Washington and “The Interview,” to name a few.
The studio had previously been in talks with Blue Anchor Entertainment and was looking to raise more $350 million-$400 million in equity and another $300 million in bank debt. Those discussions never resulted in a deal. John Laviolette did not immediately return a request seeking comment.

Now that it's left our screens, Mark details what How I Met Your Mother did right...
This article contains major spoilers for How I Met Your Mother, especially the finale - if you're watching at E4 pace, you'll probably want to come back later in the year.
Last year, we made the case for CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother's geek credentials, and came to the conclusion that while the leads are all cool, good-looking people in that sitcom way, they also have geeky interests in common as they grow into their thirties together.
For people who don't watch the series, or have maybe seen an episode or a clip while channel-hopping past E4, this show is essentially Friends warmed up. Whenever you hear that comparison, it never seems to come across in a flattering way, but that's reductive to both Friends, »
Rob Lowe doesn't want you to focus on his good looks. The 50-year-old, whose second memoir, Love Life, is out on April 8, says in an interview with The New York Times Sunday Magazine that it's not easy being pretty. "There's this unbelievable bias and prejudice against quote-unquote good-looking people, that they can't be in pain or they can't have rough lives or be deep or interesting," he says. "They can't be any of the things that you long to play as an actor. I'm getting to play those parts now and loving it. When I was a teen idol, I »

The cast hasn't exactly been sealed off in a Himym bubble. But now that the show has ended — and oh, what an ending it was — the stars are lining up new projects. What does the future hold for the former MacLaren's regulars?Josh Radnor: Radnor told Marc Maron last week that he's writing a movie that's "a love triangle set in Poland." Radnor already has 2010's Happythankyoumoreplease and 2012's Liberal Arts under his belt, so expect to see this movie at Sundance in, oh, 2016. It is hard to believe it now but How I Met Your Mother teetered between renewal and cancellation in its first two seasons. On Monday it wrapped up its ninth and final season and it did so as primetime’s third highest rated comedy.
While the very title of the show placed the focus on the story of how Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby met the mother of his children, it soon became clear that the focus was more on the lives and friendship of Ted and his friends. It was in that element that the show excelled and found its audience of diehard fans, all thanks to its incredibly likeable cast. Alyson Hannigan and Neil Patrick Harris were no strangers to television after their previous successes in Buffy and Doogie Howser, M.D. respectively, with Hannigan also coming off the back of the American Pie series. They were »

Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother, The Muppets) and Cameron Diaz (Bad Teacher, The Counselor) star as a couple who, in need of capturing the passion again, decide to film a sex tape on their iPad. The three hour intimate video ends up accidentally being uploaded to the cloud and they must delete the video from their friends' iPads.
Also featuring in the cast are Rob Corddry (Hot Tub Time Machine), Ellie Kemper (Bad Teacher), Rob Lowe (Parks and Recreation), Jack Black (School of Rock), and Jolene Blalock (Star Trek: Enterprise).
It helps that the two leads have chemistry and the film looks to revel in its R-rating. Jason Segel also has a rare ability to charm and repulse in equal measures so we may have a hit on our hands here. »

Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz have a movie they don’t want you to see. Not the actual movie itself, but the movie within the movie that makes up Sex Tape, a comedy from Jake Kasdan, the director of Bad Teacher. With the twi stars having also starred in Bad Teacher, we can hope for much of the same chemistry, and although it doesn’t look as though Diaz and Segel are stretching themselves, at least there are plenty of funny moments in the trailer. Something tells me though that the best bits may be in the trailer, as the dog meets treadmill sequence is particularly chucklesome.
The film sees Diaz and Segel make a sex tape in order to spice up their love life. Despite deleting the video straight afterwards, it accidentally uploads to The Cloud and is shared with a bunch of iPads that the duo bought their friends, »

Over the past few years, Jason Segel has seen his star rise. Known mostly for his work on the tv shows Freaks and Geeks and How I Met Your Mother, Segel has added a number of roles in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Jeff, Who Lives At Home, and The Muppets to his filmography. Many have been intrigued to see what he does next, which thus raised interest in his next project when his involvement was announced. Titled Sex Tape, the film is directed by Jake Kasdan, working from a screenplay by Kate Angelo. Segel stars alongside Cameron Diaz, Rob Corddry, Ellie Kemper, Jack Black, and Rob Lowe. The first red-band trailer for the film has now been released, and can be seen below.

By now, there are two things that you can expect from any buzz-worthy summer comedy: a raunchy red band trailer and an unwelcome amount of product placement. For the new film Sex Tape, which reunites Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel with their Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan, we get both.
In Sex Tape, releasing July 25, Diaz and Segel play Annie and Jay, a married couple whose love life has gone sour. With hopes to rekindle the fiery heat they shared when they first dated, they decide to film themselves having sex – for three straight hours. Unbeknownst to them, Jay’s Cloud account uploads the footage for all of his friends and family members to view. Now, the couple has to reclaim the iPads they gave out as parting gifts at a Christmas party before their very private video is shared with the world.
Sex Tape looks like it will have some fun satirizing modern technology. »

In 2013, Cameron Diaz had what will likely be the most talked about sex scene in her career when she got it on with a Ferrari in The Counselor, but now she's back to having sex scenes with people. This time around the lucky guy is Jason Segel and the movie is Sex Tape. A red-band trailer has just been released for the the flick, and there's no doubt that it earns its red-band status.
The movie apparently follows a couple who make a — you guessed it — sex tape and inadvertently distribute it to all their friends and family. The couple then tries to hide the video from the world, and of course hijinks ensue. This plot sounds more like sitcom-episode fodder than the story for a feature-length movie, but we're still hopeful. After all, we were pleasantly surprised by Bad Teacher, and since this flick has the same director and many of the same actors, »
