‘No Activity’ Renewed for Season 2 at CBS All Access

CBS All Access has renewed the cop comedy “No Activity” for a second season, the streaming service announced Tuesday.

The first original comedy series to launch on CBS’ streaming service, “No Activity” is set against the world of a major drug cartel bust. It follows two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican tunnelers who are in way too small a space considering they’ve only just met.

The cast of the first season included series co-developer Patrick Brammall along with Tim Meadows, with guest stars Mark Berry, Arturo Castro, Mackenzie Davis, Bridget Everett, Will Ferrell, Darren Gilshenan, Travis Guba, Jake Johnson, Sunita Mani, Jason Mantzoukas, Adrian Martinez, Jesse Plemons, Fred Pohl, Alex Rodriguez, Amy Sedaris, J.K. Simmons, Courtenay Taylor, Michaela Watkins, and Daniel Zolghadri.

Sundance Film Review: ‘Clara’s Ghost’

Sundance Film Review: ‘Clara’s Ghost’
Bridey Elliott’s debut feature as writer-director is an idiosyncratic goof whose primary interest lies in seeing her parents and sibling (she’s the daughter of comedian Chris Elliott) play presumably warped caricatures of themselves. The in-joke air can only float this enterprise so far, however. In the end, there’s not enough of distinction or substance to make this absurdist family comedy with a haunted-house angle feel like more than a short’s worth of ideas stretched too thin. Commercial prospects will be modest at best for a film whose near-square aspect ratio and improvisational-skit feel intended for the smallest possible screens.

A nonsensical much-ado-about-nothing tenor is established immediately as Clara (Paula Niedert Elliott) and Ted (Chris Elliott) drive along a lonely country road at night. She’s frantically looking for something that turns out to be no more than a shoe she thinks fell out of the car earlier — but she views this as crisis

BoJack Horseman being shopped for syndication in benchmark move for Netflix

‘BoJack Horseman’ Rerun Rights Shopped to Cable Buyers, a Rarity for Netflix Series

‘BoJack Horseman’ Rerun Rights Shopped to Cable Buyers, a Rarity for Netflix Series
Rerun rights to the Netflix animated comedy “BoJack Horseman” are being shopped to cable buyers by distributor Debmar-Mercury, an unusual example of a Netflix original series hitting the syndication market.

“BoJack” producer Tornante Co. was among the first production companies to work with Netflix on original programming. “BoJack” premiered in 2014, when Netflix was still ramping up its originals strategy and wasn’t as focused on locking up global rights in all-encompassing deals that essentially buy out the syndication window that is so crucial to profitability for producers.

Tornante, headed by Michael Eisner, clearly had the foresight to retain the off-network rights in “BoJack” for a domestic syndication sale. The offbeat comedy about a washed-up sitcom horse (voiced by Will Arnett) from the 1990s dropped its fourth season on Sept. 8. The series has racked up 48 episodes to date and has already been renewed for Season 5.

“I’m very proud of ‘BoJack Horseman.’ Who knew a

Andy Cohen Joins Anderson Cooper on CNN's Nye Countdown: Did You Miss Kathy Griffin? View All the Highlights
Andy Cohen left the comfort of his Watch What Happens Live clubhouse behind on Sunday night and braved below-freezing temperatures to ring in 2018 with Anderson Cooper.

The Real Housewives ringleader made his debut as the new co-host of CNN’s annual New Year’s Eve bash. He succeeded Kathy Griffin, who anchored the broadcast alongside Cooper for 10 years before her contract was terminated in May for reasons well documented.

The countdown to 2018 kicked off a full four hours before the annual ball drop — but it only took 18 minutes for a CNN correspondent to drop trou. (Yes, really!) Cohen and Cooper

The Top 10 TV Shows of 2017
Television is a medium known for its personal connections and incomparable scope. The same set of characters can tell stories for decades, visiting your home upwards of 20 times per year for so many years they feel like family members. Daunting at the onset and comforting in the long-run, the best TV shows are the ones that stick with you because you stuck with them.

As more and more programming floods the airwaves, competition is rising. Seasons don’t have as many episodes. Shows don’t run for as many years. Greetings are savored because goodbyes are often just around the corner — or, at least, they feel like it.

So it should come as no surprise that time plays an integral role in the best television series of 2017. From the exciting new friends found in “American Vandal,” “Dear White People,” and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” to the beloved vanishing faces in “Halt and Catch Fire,

Justin Theroux Brings the Penis Puns to ‘At Home With Amy Sedaris’ as an Astronaut With ‘Bone Density’ Problems — Watch
Justin Theroux is a man of many talents. A writer, director, and star of screens big and small, the man is a chameleon. Sure, you may know him for co-writing “Tropic Thunder” or starring in “The Leftovers,” but he really can do it all: comedy, drama, it doesn’t matter. Theroux makes it fly, even when he’s playing someone who “can’t get his rocket to blast off.”

In a new clip from “At Home with Amy Sedaris,” Theroux joins the best man at his wedding as an astronaut who just doesn’t “find astronaut relationship jokes that amusing… after what I’ve been going through.”

We’ll leave it to Theroux to tell you more about Commander Colonel Gary Commander’s unique problem, but be warned, for your own safety: There are puns.

Amy Sedaris and Justin Theroux Make Astronaut Jokes on ‘At Home’ (Exclusive Clip)
On a very special episode At Home With Amy Sedaris, host Amy Sedaris is taking audiences out of this world, pushing the boundaries of hospitality, transporting our appetites beyond the limits of reason and taking a seven-course meal into the fourth dimension.

Yes, it’s quite an epic journey on Sedaris’ homemaking and entertaining truTV series, which has brought her quirky tidbits to life, with Jane Krakowski, Neil Patrick Harris, Rachel Dratch and Stephen Colbert all passing through for firsthand demonstrations.

In Et’s exclusive first look at Tuesday’s all-new episode, Justin Theroux makes an unexpected appearance as an ill-tempered astronaut, who doesn’t seem to care for his host’s space jokes.

Of course, fans of Sedaris know that she and Theroux are longtime friends -- she stood as best man during his and Jennifer Aniston’s wedding -- so it’s no surprise to see him on At Home. And his appearance

No Activity review – Will Ferrell and Bob Odenkirk join faithful Us reboot of Aussie cop comedy

Jk Simmons, Amy Sedaris and Jason Mantzoukas bring new energy to a winning format: Waiting for Godot in a cop car

It seems like just yesterday the first season of Stan’s original Seinfeldian cop series No Activity tore down the freeway, with the actors Patrick Brammall and Darren Gilshenan in the front seats as dunderhead cops on a stakeout.

And by “tore down” I of course mean “parked in a stationary car”. And by “freeway” I mean “cargo wharf at night where nothing ever happens”.

‘No Activity’ Review: Will Ferrell’s Funny, No-Frills Buddy Comedy Should Inspire Creatives to Create

‘No Activity’ Review: Will Ferrell’s Funny, No-Frills Buddy Comedy Should Inspire Creatives to Create
The premise of “No Activity” is so simple it’s dangerous. The police are stuck in an extended waiting game with a drug cartel. With the bad guys’ plan stalled, the cops have nothing to do but sit in their unmarked cruiser and keep an eye on their hideout. The two partners can only talk to each other to pass the time, and the same is true for the criminals on the inside and the dispatchers back at the station.

In other words, nothing happens. There’s literally no activity (barring the final moments of the first two episodes), and the entire comedy relies on banter between various partners to carry the show.

Improbably, it works. Buoyed by strong comedic performances from likable personalities, both new and familiar, and the sharp dialogue courtesy of series creator Trent O’Donnell and star Patrick Brammall, “No Activity” is a low-key pleasure. It goes down easy,

Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted wearing the same leopard print dress at two separate events all during a span of under two weeks, which made us pose the question: What would Carrie Bradshaw say about recycled fashion?

The actress, 52, was first pictured in the look that featured lilac lace paneling on Oct. 19 when she attended the premiere screening and party for her truTV new comedy series At Home with Amy Sedaris held at The Bowery Hotel in New York City. Red-Band Trailer For Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's CBS All Access Comedy Series No Activity

CBS All Access has released a funny red-band trailer for their upcoming original comedy series No Activity. The series comes from Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Funny Or Die and it looks like it could be a great show worth checking! If you're already signed up with CBS All Access to watch Star Trek: Discovery, now you've got another series to look forward to watching! I enjoyed what I saw in this first trailer as it contained a few things that managed to make me laugh. Here's the synopsis:

No Activity celebrates the mundane in what should be a high stakes sting operation. Set against the world of a major drug cartel bust, the series follows two low-level cops who have spent far too much time in a car together; two criminals who are largely kept in the dark; two dispatch workers who haven’t really clicked; and two Mexican
