'Delivery Man': Vince Vaughn fathers over 500 children in teaser

The first teaser for "Delivery Man," starring Vince Vaughn, is out and finds him in a bit of a predicament. As the minute long trailer starts, Vaughn's underachieving character learns that he's fathered over 500 different children, due to a mix up at a fertility clinic he donated to in the 90s.
Unfortunately fore Vaughn, several of the children are filing a lawsuit to reveal his identity. The cast contains quite a list of names, including Cobie Smulders ("How I Met Your Mother") and Chris Pratt ("Parks and Recreation").
The movie is a remake of a 2011's "Starbuck," a French-Canadian film written and directed by Ken Scott, who does the same for this. The list of directors who remake their own films isn't incredibly long. One of the most recent notable times was Michael Haneke recreating his thriller "Funny Games" for American audiences in 2008.

Delivery Man starring Vince Vaughn as a man who's fathered 533 children through sperm donation and now must contend with several of them now suing to learn his identity is a remake of Ken Scott's 2011 film Starbuck and Scott is actually directing the remake as well. Today the first teaser trailer for the film premiered giving audience a sneak peek. I gave it a watch and it doesn't really give much of anything away outside of the plot and the traditional Vaughn delivery we've come to expect. Chris Pratt as his lawyer could definitely provide a few laughs though. Delivery Man hits theaters on Novemeber 22 and also co-stars Cobie Smulders and Britt Robertson . »

Canadian comedy Starbuck was a huge hit in its native land, so naturally the remake rights were grabbed so that Americans wouldn't have to listen to any foreign accents, eh. And to avoid any confusion with excited Battlestar Galactica fans, the name was changed to Delivery Man. The first trailer for the film is lurking below. Vince Vaughn had some surprising news today – he’s the father to hundreds of kids! Not in real life of course, but in a movie called Delivery Man. You can watch the first teaser trailer for this comedy drama below:
Delivery Man is a remake of a French-language Canadian film called Starbuck, which was reasonably well-received but didn’t make much of a splash in the wider world. DreamWorks liked the idea though, and enlisted original director Ken Scott to remake it for English-speaking audiences who are unable to read subtitles. Their only proviso was that he promise to cast Vince Vaughn, because what film couldn’t use a little Vince Vaughn?

It's all too common these days for Hollywood to pick up on the success of a foreign-language film and to set about making their own version. What's decidedly rare is to see the original film's director step behind the camera again to helm the remake. But that's exact what Canadian actor/director Ken Scott is doing with this English-language remake of his own 2011 Canadian comedy Starbuck.
The Dreamworks flick sees Frat Pack kingpin Vince Vaughn taking on Scott's lead role, joined by a supporting cast that includes the always funny Chris Pratt along with Cobie Smulders, Ben Bailey and Britt Robertson.

For whatever reason, Canadian director Ken Scott decided to do an American remake his own film Starbuck titled Delivery Man, set to be fronted by Captain Subtlety himself, Vince Vaughn. And now that we.ve seen the above trailer for the film, courtesy of Fandango, it.s clearly obvious why everyone wanted to do this. Because of the.okay so I.m not sure why the original film wasn't enough. As the trailer explains, Vaughn will be playing a guy who donated sperm a long time ago, but due to some mix up at the sperm bank ended up fathering 533 children. Oh, and and some of them are suing to find out who he is. I.m not sure how accurate the legal portion of the plot is, but it seems a bit off. With The Hangover Part III hitting theaters tomorrow, new comedies are looking to introduce themselves to audiences and Delivery Man with Vince Vaughn is one of them. Director and writer Ken Scott has remade his French Canadian comedy Starbuck for American audiences with this story of a middle-aged man whose life is turned upside down when he learns he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation. As you can imagine, this comes as quite a shock, and for Vaughn, that likely means a lot of fast-talking. This teaser doesn't show much except Vaughn doing his thing and Chris Pratt at the end, but it's still amusing. Now all his kids want to find out who he is, which, apparently, is something he doesn’t want. Because, you know, he’s a slacker/loser and all. Plus, he’s Vince Vaughn. Vince Vaughn could probably use a comeback at this point. After "Wedding Crashers" revived his career back in 2005, he was briefly one of the more reliable comedy leading men, but it's four years since one of his films, "Couples Retreat," made any serious coin, with "The Dilemma" and "The Watch" both proving box office disappointments. It's every low-budget independent filmmaker's first thought after completing a movie doomed for film festival obscurity (or worse): Man, if only we could have remade that, but had like a billion more dollars and big time movie stars instead of whatever yahoos we cast in this thing. Well, dreams really do come true. At least if you're French-Canadian filmmaker Ken Scott, who got to remake his 2011 film "Starbuck" (itself a loose remake of a Hindi movie called "Vicky Donor") as "The Delivery Man," only this time bankrolled by DreamWorks and featuring a cast that includes Vince Vaughn, Cobie Smulders and Chris Pratt. "What?" So says Vince Vaughn in the new "Delivery Man" trailer, a comedy about a man who finds out he has fathered 533 children after a mishap at the sperm bank he frequents. Vaughn plays that man.
Directed by Ken Scott and based on Scott's 2011 Canadian film "Starbuck," "Delivery Man" is one of Disney's prize fall releases. The film was set to arrive in theaters on Oct. 4, but the studio moved "Delivery Man" to Nov. 22 earlier this month. That puts the Vaughn comedy against "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire."
The new "Delivery Man" teaser trailer offers the bare minimum of anything beyond the initial set up: Vaughn's David Wozniak is confronted with the news that he fathered 533 children, some of which are suing to find out his identity. Chris Pratt plays Vaughn's onscreen lawyer, a sidekick turn that already seems like a scene-stealer in just 20 seconds.
