I think it’s safe to say at this point that most people have a pretty firm opinion about the films of Kevin Smith, as well as the filmmaker himself. Personally, I think he’s a hoot and actually is one of my favorite artists out there. This week, Smith unleashes Yoga Hosers into the world after a debut earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. As someone who enjoys his various podcasts, hearing the idea sort of birthed during one, much like with Tusk, had me eager to see it. Frankly, it doesn’t disappoint, though I freely admit this won’t be for everyone. It’s a strange beast, but kind of a perfect fit for Smith’s current interests at this point in his career. Again, the movie is, like the aforementioned Tusk, based off of a conversation Smith had with Scott Mosier on SModcast, one of his podcasts. »

Shortly thereafter, the first trailer and poster were released, with the tour kicking off on June 1 in New Orleans. The tour continues today with a stop at the Houston Improv in Houston, Texas, but for those who can't make it to this screening, the second trailer has debuted with plenty of new footage, including a new look at Johnny Depp's Guy Lapointe.

Back in April, Invincible Pictures announced it had picked up distribution rights for Kevin Smith's second installment of his True North Trilogy, Yoga Hosers, which is set to hit theaters July 29. The first trailer was released last month, but now that the tour is starting tonight, we have the first poster and a new photo, featuring stars Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp, the daughters of Kevin Smith and their co-star Johnny Depp.

Just one day after director Kevin Smith won a PG-13 rating for his new film Yoga Hosers, without having to face the MPAA's appeals board, the film has been picked up for distribution. Newly-launched company Invincible Pictures has signed on to distribute Yoga Hosers as its first feature film, setting a July 29 release date. While it isn't known how wide a release the film is getting, the movie will be going up against Universal's Jason Bourne and Stx Entertainment's Bad Moms. Before the movie hits theaters, the director will actually take the movie on a nationwide tour.
Variety reports that the first seven dates of this Yoga Hosers tour have been announced, with additional dates set to be added in the near future. The tour kicks off on June 1 in New Orleans at the Joy Theater, followed by a June 2 stop at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall in Ponte Vedra, »
We haven't heard much about director Kevin Smith's new movie Yoga Hosers lately, since production wrapped back in June. The director debuted the first trailer at Comic Con, but it still hasn't been officially released yet, and the movie doesn't have a release date in place at this time. Yesterday, the director took to his Instagram page to provide an interesting update about the second installment of his True North Trilogy, which has been slapped with an R rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). The reason behind the rating, however, will certainly surprise you, as you can see in his lengthy statement below, which also reveals he's planning a summer release for the movie.
The #MPAA gave my kids movie @YogaHosers an R rating for a cartoony drawing of testicles on a book cover. So now, for the 4th time in my 22 year career, we will »

We’ve got a double dose of Scream Factory today, with two film reviews that couldn’t possibly be more different from each other. The first one, a zombie film full of CG blood and the other, a trippy nightmare of a film that will not leave your head for days. Some good, some bad, both hitting shelves this week.
Hellions (Dir. Bruce McDonald)
Partnering A Christmas Horror Story writer Pascal Trottier with Pontypool director Bruce McDonald, Hellions is quite possibly one of the most imaginative horror films I’ve ever seen. Telling a very nightmarish tale, Hellions follows Dora (Chloe Rose, Degrassi: The Next Generation), a young woman who finds out that she is pregnant. Unsure of how to deal with the new, Dora keeps it to herself and when her mother has to go out for the night, Dora is left at home on Halloween, reluctantly passing out candy. »

Kevin Smith’s next film is an all out family affair. As you’d expect, he both wrote and directed Yoga Hosers, but not only did his wife, Jennifer Schwalbach, produce, but his daughter, Harley Quinn Smith, stars in the lead role. It doesn’t stop there though, because Johnny Depp’s daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, is taking the other lead role, while her famous father and mother, Vanessa Paradis, have parts too. Because of this, intrigue over Yoga Hosers is rather rife, and the first clip for the comedy horror suggests that it’s going to have much more visual flair than Smith’s previous works, while still possessing an anarchic air. Check it out below. Yoga Hosers looks cute. Sure, there’s not all that much to go on in the clip, but both Harley Quinn Smith and Lily-Rose Depp seem »
