Nickelodeon’s Miranda Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy’s vehicle for the last few season, iCarly, will be coming to an end this year, capped off by a special tv “event” that will air in November, according to TVguide.
iCarly will continue to live on in reruns at Nickelodeon. As will some of the fan favorites from the show. In fact, McCurdy will be reteaming with iCarly creator/producer Dan Schneider on a project, Noah Munck (Gibby) is a set with the network, and Jerry Trainor (Spenser) will be moving on Nick’s Wendell & Vinnie.
As far as the titular character herself, Miranda Cosgrove doesn’t have any confirmed looming television projects on her plate (which probably means she’s primed to be part of some Hunger Games sequel casting rumor), and instead will be enrolling in school, attending class at USC during the Fall semester.

Hit kids show Icarly is to end with a special episode in November.
The cast of the Nickelodeon show will gather to shoot the finale this summer before series star Miranda Cosgrove heads off to university in California.
Cosgrove and Jennette McCurdy, who play best friends and stars of a make-believe web show in the series, have been big hits among teenagers for the past five years.
The hit comedy, which also features Noah Munck, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor, debuted in 2007 and has featured guest spots from Cosgrove's School of Rock co-star Jack Black and U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama.
While Cosgrove concentrates on her education, her castmates have all landed new shows at Nickelodeon.
Announcing the news to end the series, creator Dan Schneider tells TV Guide magazine, "I hope iCarly's legacy will be that it's a truly funny TV show that made people of all ages laugh, smile, and feel good.
"To the iCarly fans, I'd say, 'Thank you' a million times, for the love, support and true passion they've shown for iCarly. It's the fans that made iCarly a huge hit, and invited us into their homes on a daily basis, to entertain them. How do you say thank you to millions and millions of people all around the world, for bringing you into their homes every single day? It's amazing. I'd love to take each and every iCarly fan out to dinner and give them a big ol' bear hug!" »

Here’s some guest casting you probably didn’t expect to see: Rick, Corey and Chumlee from History’s hit reality series Pawn Stars will play themselves on iCarly, EW has learned. How on earth did these two worlds collide? As it turns out, iCarly creator/exec producer Dan Schneider and his wife are big fans of the boys at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, and he offered them a spot on his Nickelodeon comedy.
In the episode, Sam (Jennette McCurdy) learns that her saucy mother is being held in a Las Vegas jail, so Carly (Miranda Cosgrove) and the »

Edward G. Robinson, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Glenda Farrell, Little Caesar Little Caesar Review Pt.1 More cogent is the claim that Little Caesar represents a look at American capitalism without the blinders. Rico is like many of the Gilded Age thugs who made violence and murder an accepted practice of business. In much the same way that the Rockefellers and Carnegies avoided being publicly seen with blood on their hands, so too do the big movers and shakers of the city’s underworld. Diamond Pete Montana (Ralph Ince) and the Big Boy (Sidney Blackmer), both of whom are several notches above Rico, survive because they keep low profiles — in the world of Big Business, too, the CEOs that stay behind the scenes survive the longest. Rico, on the other hand, does his Al Capone and John Gotti-like best to court the press and as a result, is doomed. Now, while nowhere near great cinema, »

Peter Falk, Ben Gazzara, John Cassavetes, Husbands Husbands Review Pt.1 John Cassavetes does a terrific acting job with his portrayal of disillusioned diffidence. Peter Falk’s best moment is not in an early famous scene wherein Archie takes off his clothes trying to persuade an American woman to sing better at a bar; instead, Falk shines in Husbands' penultimate scene, after Archie and Gus have left Harry behind to a life in England, and Archie asks Gus about what Harry will do without them. It is a poignant moment because the viewer knows Harry really doesn’t give a damn what his buddies think. Also, Archie is clueless to this fact, since we’ve seen him and Gus spend the whole film basically freezing Harry out of their friendship. It’s a moment that shows the best of "realistic" character development — something Husbands sorely lacks elsewhere. Compounding matters, the »

A Face In The Crowd Review Pt.1 [Photo: Andy Griffith as Larry 'Lonesome' Rhodes.] Rhodes' abrupt fall is based on a New York radio show incident-cum-urban legend from a few years earlier, as a Wor children’s show host named Uncle Don, purportedly believing he was off the air, said: "This is Uncle Don, saying good night. We're off. Good, that will hold the little bastards." The solid Warner Bros. DVD is part of the box set "Controversial Classics." The DVD includes only two extras: the original theatrical trailer and the 30-minute documentary Facing the Past, in which Andy Griffith, Budd Schulberg, Patricia Neal, and several scholars and behind-the-scenes contributors speak of the film, its impact, and director Elia Kazan. An audio commentary would have been most welcome, but Facing the Past is certainly a good documentary, giving the viewer a real sense of what was going on in the minds of the film’s participants. Ulysses Gaze Review Pt.2: Harvey Keitel, Erland Josephson, Maia Morgenstern Ulysses' Gaze ends with his soliloquy of grief. The character's despair, even though he is now in sole possession of the reels, suggests that his real interest was never the old film footage. How it ties in to his own quest for past memories is uncertain. In fact, there is an air of self-delusion and disingenuity in his grief. As a performer, Harvey Keitel seems to be dreamily floating throughout much of the film. This approach mostly works, save for a few much too florid speeches. Erland Josephson seems a bit hyperactive as the historian, while Maia Morgenstern gives perhaps the film's finest performance — or rather, performances — even if some of the roles seem a bit too far out. Ulysses' Gaze also offers a magnificently effective score by Eleni Karaindrou, especially with great viola passages by Kim Kashkashian, which »

Last Thursday, I was exposed to a whole different world I had only heard about and never seen firsthand. When my friend and I arrived at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, a military base in New Jersey, we were police escorted through the premises. I had never been to a military base before, and have had no immediate family members stationed or in the service. Fort Dix was its own microcosm, or inside world and community, with training facilities, office buildings, planes and helicopters, condos, and even a Burger King and Dunkin Donuts! I was headed to meet with military families who were getting to see a screening of the new iCarly episode, "iMeet The First Lady," featuring Michelle Obama. Nickelodeon and the White House have joined forces to bring awareness to ways kids can help support U.S. military families. On the show, Carly Shay, played by teen-pop star Miranda Cosgrove, »
