9 April 2015 11:24 AM, PDT | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

It has been a year since the first season and fans have been itching to see what is next for the acclaimed HBO series, True Detective. Now, a teaser gives them a small glimpse into what this season has to offer.

HBO released the first teaser for season two on Thursday with glimpses at stars Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, and Taylor Kitsch. The series steers into a new direction and story after Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson led the first season.

The new season will diverge from the model of the first one with director Cary Fukunaga (who directed every episode of the season) leaving the show. Fast & Furious veteran Justin Lin helmed the first two episodes of the season followed by Janus Metz Pedersen, Miguel Sapochnik, and Daniel Attias.

Nic Pizzolatto is still on board as the showrunner and writer.

Watch Now: ‘True Detective’ Season 2 Teaser Trailer

9 April 2015 10:42 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

After Season One of HBO’s Greatest Series of All-Time True Detective, it’s definitely up high, there was initial confusion over whether we’d continue with the same characters but, thankfully, creator Nic Pizzolatto confirmed quickly that it’d be a whole new cast and story and from this first trailer? It’s wrapped in beautiful darkness, just like we’d hoped.

I’m a huge fan of actors being cast against type and almost everyone here has been chosen for the talent and some that don’t always shine as they should, I’m looking at you Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch, but now is the time for redemption as we head into True Detective: Season Two.

This teaser shows a mustachioed Colin Farrell looking brilliantly mean, plus a little insight into the characters via the visual medium. We’ll get to see the aforementioned few plus »
