The Undying has received some positive early reviews and Peros freely admits being influenced by other horror films including The Changeling and Robert Wise's The Haunting (IMDb). This title also has a release on DVD December 12th through Mti Home Video and those interested in an intriguing storyline of death, possession and rebirth can preview the film's trailer below.

Love is Undying When The Undying Lives on DVD this December

9 November 2011 9:50 AM, PST | DreadCentral.com | See recent Dread Central news »

Lonely female doctor falls in love with the Civil War ghost haunting her new home. Lonely female doctor schemes for them to be together by having his spirit inhabit the body of a coma patient. Possessed coma patient wakes up; also turns out to be a serial killer. Bad things happen. A ghost story in the classical sense, obviously.

That’s the basic gist of The Undying, a supernatural chiller of ghostly romance gone horribly wrong, that Mti Home Video will be releasing to DVD on December 13th.

Robin Weigart (Calamity Jane on “Deadwood”), Anthony Carrigan (“Parenthood”), Jay O. Sanders (Green Lantern), and Wes Studi (Avatar) star in this Steven Peros film he co-wrote with David M. Flynn.

Seduced by the ghost of a Civil War soldier, whose spirit dwells in her new home, Dr. Barbara Haughton contrives to have him live again in the body of a man who died in her hospital. »

CBS

The “Executive Order” episode features the kind of legal maneuvers that make you long for the “Law & Order”-“Perry Mason”-guilty-or-innocent-here’s the-murder-weapon-case-closed days of television gone by. But as Diane points out somewhere along the hour, 9/11 changed everything. And so even couch potatoes have to bone up on complicated new laws, just to watch a network show!

Fortunately, this episode also highlights two personalities we hope will become semi-regulars—caustic Judge Hal Ferris (Jay O. Sanders) and »

Green Lantern, 2011.

Directed by Martin Campbell.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, Taiki Waititi, Jay O. Sanders, Geoffrey Rush, Michael Clarke Duncan, Peter Sarsgaard and Clancy Brown.

Synopsis:

The first human to be selected for the Green Lantern Corps, test-pilot Hal Jordon soon finds himself as Earth’s last hope for survival when the planet is threatened by the destructive entity known as Parallax.

It’s fair to say that outside of Christopher Nolan’s Batman franchise, Warner Bros. haven’t exactly set the world alight with their stable of DC Comics superheroes as of late. In fact, their output over the past decade or so has been anything but stellar (see Catwoman, Superman Returns, Jonah Hex), while the studio’s one decent effort – Zack Snyder's Watchmen – was never really going to be anything more than a cult hit (I mean, could »

There are a lot of superhero films these days. Sometimes characters hop between them; others are set in a recent past. The LCD display above Wood Green Cineworld’s screen 6 door declared ‘X-Men: First Class’. Even cinemas get confused with it all.

Green Lantern, 2011.

Directed by Martin Campbell.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Tim Robbins, Temuera Morrison, Taiki Waititi, Jon Tenney, Jay O. Sanders, Geoffrey Rush, Michael Clarke Duncan and Peter Sarsgaard.

Synopsis:

Cocky test pilot Hal Jordan (Ryan Reynolds) is granted cosmic super-powers to help defeat an intergalactic foe.

You know a film is in trouble when, after ten opening minutes of exposition narrative presented over average CGI images, you’re still none the wiser as to what is going on. Worse still, if the audience’s interest begins waning because what is being shown is so hurriedly put together in a mad rush to get the main story going, you know the following 90 minutes have really got to be something special to save a unmitigated disaster.

Unfortunately for Green Lantern, the latest in the seemingly never ending influx of comic-book films, the film never makes up for its lost ground. »

Then again, remove the vehicle that bumps along with the ride and watch that video in another location and it’s probably not particularly enjoyable anymore. Well, consider Green Lantern that displaced amusement park simulator video, tacky visuals, unconvincing and only capable of holding your attention for minutes at a time. Kiss Me Deadly (Criterion) Robert Aldrich’s 1955 reinvention of the film noir detective story is one of cinema’s great genre mash-ups: part hardboiled noir; part cold war paranoid thriller; and part science- fiction. Ralph Meeker plays Mickey Spillane’s fascist detective Mike Hammer as a narcissistic simian thug, a sadist who would rather smash a suspect’s fingers than make love to the bevvy of beautiful dames that cross his path. In fact, the only time you see a smile cross Meeker’s sneering mug is when he’s doling out pain, with a vengeance. When a terrified young woman (Cloris Leachman, film debut) literally crossed Hammer’s path one night, and later turns up dead, he vows to get to the bottom of her brutal demise. One of the most influential films ever made, and perhaps the most-cited film by the architects »

Green Lantern Preview – 8 New Clips And Tons Of Images

The more I catch of this film, the more I really start to wonder about the people behind it, and Ryan Reynolds... who seems to think it is awesome. Not that I really have enough to go on, but it is, at the very least, not putting it's best foot forward in my opinion. That is, if we're working on the theory that it really is fantastic.

I'm based though, because Green Lantern has always been one of my favorites. My thoughts so far are that there is something not especially "Green Lanterny" about the slick and syrupy film this seems to be.

At any rate, take a look at eight new clips and a bunch of images. Let me know if you think differently about the case this film is making for itself. Use the playlist feature to select clips.
