First Look at Parallax in Green Lantern

22 November 2010 9:31 AM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

According the Daily Blam this image you see above is our first look at Parallax in Green Lantern. According to the site this is a "scan of artwork from one of the next issues of the Green Lantern comic series which reveals the fear entity Parallax from WB's upcoming live-action film." This is one hell of a freakish looking character, and it will be fun to see the Green Lantern take it on.

Here's the character description:

An ancient horror, Parallax the living embodiment of fear, a demonic parasitic entity which would travel from world to world, causing entire societies to destroy themselves out of fear and paranoia. It is known to ravage planets and strike terror into the hearts of even the Guardians of the Universe.

Here's the film's official synopsis of Parallax:

In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. »

Easter Eggs From The ‘Green Lantern’ Trailer You Didn’t See and All New Stills

18 November 2010 10:27 PM, PST | SoundOnSight | See recent SoundOnSight news »

After the Green Lantern trailer appeared online this week, most people walked away feeling somewhat disappointed. While the scenes in space look great, the earth scenes appear to belong in a bad television series from the Sci-fi channel.

Despite my scepticism I did re-watch the trailer a half dozen or so times in search of some the classic characters from the comic book series that seem to be missing. It didn’t take long after browsing the net to uncover an article MTV published that unveiled some of the Easter eggs hidden within the trailer. Take a look at the photos below and try to guess what they are.

Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern

Photo: Warner Bros. When it comes to the superhero sect I know the one trailer you've been waiting all day to comment on is the first official look at Green Lantern featuring Ryan Reynolds as the title character under the direction of GoldenEye and Mask of Zorro helmer Martin Campell. Well, wait no longer as Apple has delivered.

Since I'm not a comic aficionado I'll leave most of the commentary to those of you in the audience, but just the image of Reynolds above is enough to turn me off of this flick. I'm not sure if it's his face which looks like it's been Photoshopped to hell and back or what, but I'm just not digging it. Then watching the trailer it feels like I'm watching the college version of Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark.

Co-starring alongside Reynolds are Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, »

Get your first look at Ryan Reynolds in Green Lantern this upcoming Tuesday on Entertainment Tonight. Take a look at the sneak peek below.

The film is directed by Martin Campbell and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Tim Robbins, Mark Strong, Taika Waititi, Temuera Morrison, Angela Bassett, Jay O. Sanders and Jon Tenney.

It opens in theaters everywhere on June 17, and I predict it will be one of the big blockbusters of the summer.  What are your thoughts?

[From Venkman - Finally we see Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern suit! I love the look and style of the CGI costume. The effects are still being worked on so what we see here is still unfinished, but it gives you a solid idea of what is in store for us! I also like the tone of the film, and the fun little comedic moments that suits Reynolds' personality.] »
