The Beautiful Sound of "Hugo" Wins Cinema Audio Society Award! Check Out Complete List of Winners!

The Cinema Audio Society has announced the winners of the 48th Annual Cas Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for 2011 in four categories.

In the Motion Pictures category, "Hugo" beat "Hanna," "Moneyball," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and "Super 8" for excellent sound mixing.

Winners were announced Saturday night at the Millenium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Director Rob Mashall received the Cas Filmmaker Award that night.

The 48th Cas Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing were presented tonight by the Cinema Audio Society at a banquet in the Crystal Ballroom at the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel. They are presented annually to the winning Re-Recording and Production Mixers in each of four categories: Television Non-Fiction, Variety or Music Series or Special; Television Series; Television Movies or Mini-Series; and Motion Pictures. The competition is open to feature films and television programs released or aired during the calendar year, and the winners are revealed in a sealed envelope ceremony.
