Lew Rywin was born on November 10, 1945 in Nizhnyeye Alkeyevo, Tatar ASSR, RSFSR, USSR. He is a producer and actor, known for Schindler's List (1993), The Pianist (2002) and Europa Europa (1990).

Charged with soliciting a bribe from a Polish newspaper editor. [January 2003]
He speaks more than four languages, but with a Russian accent.
(1989-1991) He was a vice-chairman of the Polish Radio and TV Committee (Komitet ds. Radia i Telewizji).
He became a director of famous Polish production agency 'Poltel' which mostly cooperated with Polish TV.
Graduated Tilden High School New York (1962-1965) and Warsaw University (1965-1969).
Moved to Poland with his parents in the late 1950s.
