Between them, Justice League and Avengers: Infinity War effectively brought the Internet to a standstill throughout the course of the weekend, after Warner Bros. and Marvel showcased their costumed crusaders to those in attendance at Sdcc.
The latter tentpole, one which is due to arrive on May 4th of 2018, brings together some of our favorite Marvel mascots…and not a moment too soon. Thanos has planet Earth in his sights, and Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan will stop at nothing until he is in possession of all six Infinity Stones – Infinity Stones that will seemingly give him the power to bring “balance” back to the universe. Exactly what that means is anyone’s guess at this early stage, but it seems some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes may have to lay their lives on the line to scupper Thanos’ plans for galactic domination.
That show-stopping spectacle was on full display »

As yesterday’s official San Diego Comic-Con trailer proved, Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople) is looking to bring the God of Thunder on a stranger, lighter and more colorful adventure than his previous two outings. In general, Waititi’s approach to directing Ragnarok looks to be more unconventional than what most take with superhero movies, as he explains in a new interview.
MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz caught up with Waititi after Marvel’s giant Hall H presentation at Comic-Con on Saturday and picked his brain about the upcoming seventeenth entry in Marvel Cinematic Universe. The two quickly got on the topic of improvisation, to which Waititi revealed that a shocking amount of the film is improvised. He said, “I would say we improvised maybe 80% of the film, or ad-libbed.”
Improvisation is encouraged on the set of most (if not all) Marvel Studios movies, »

Marvel Studios may have decided against releasing its D23 and San Diego Comic-Con trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, but sure enough a few sneaky people in Hall H managed to record the footage, and post it online in atrocious quality for all to see. Let’s hope Marvel releases an official version soon, but if you can’t wait, we have it for you here (although it’s probably not going to stay online very long)…

There are many mysteries that continue to linger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but easily one of the most significant is exactly what happened to The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) after the events of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. »

"[That's] life on the road when you're a superhero," Ruffalo explained of his Instagram pic, which showed Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Ragnarok director Taika Waititi spooning mid-flight. "You gotta grab it where you can get it, you know?"
"There's no shortage of love in this cast," Hemsworth added. "What there is a shortage of is space on the place, so, you know, if you're doing 24-hour days and traveling the world, you kind of get it where you can... sleep, that is. And cuddles."

The Incredible Hulk has always been known for his catchy two-word turns of phrase – e.g. “Puny God” or, the classic, “Hulk smash!” – but in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, the angry green giant will have expanded his vocabulary.
At Marvel’s Sdcc panel, Mark Ruffalo spoke about how the character will be portrayed differently in the threequel, as a consequence of what he’s been doing since we last saw Hulk when he left Earth at the end of 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.
This was supported by the new Thor: Ragnarok trailer, which showed him engaging in a proper conversation with his Asgardian buddy. Sure, the grammar and sentence syntax still need some work, but he’s come a long way. He’s even mastered the art of banter and backhanded compliments (“Hulk like rage fire. Thor like smoldering fire.”)
The reason for this was also revealed by Ruffalo, »

Once again Marvel Studios ruled the film panels at Comic-Con, thrilling Hall H attendees with a star-studded, banter-filled finale on Saturday evening.
Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige wasted little time firing off a volley of casting news: Michelle Pfeiffer has joined Ant-Man And The Wasp as Janet Van Dyne – mother to Evangeline Lilly’s The Wasp and wife of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym. In another big piece of casting, Laurence Fishburne is on board as scientist Bill Foster.
Ant-Man himself Paul Rudd recorded a witty run-down of Marvel Studios’ first nine years with Ant-Man co-star Michael Pena. Early rough footage from Ant-Man And The Wasp showed Evangeline Lilly in action as The Wasp and drew the first of many wild responses from the crowd. The film »

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk!

During the panel, it was confirmed that the movie takes place four years after Thor: The Dark World, and that Loki has been posing as Odin for all that time. Meanwhile, The Hulk has spent two years on Sakaar (and refused to revert back to Bruce Banner), during which time he’s developed the vocabulary of a two-year old. Meanwhile, The Grandmaster is confirmed as the brother of The Collector, and both are Elders of the Universe, and Clancy Brown is lending his voice to Surtur.
Some Comic-Con exclusive footage was also shown; here’s a description via Coming Soon…
It begins with Thor strapped to a chair that is moving through a Disneyland like ride. Projections all around him tell the story of Sakaar. »
