Taika Waititi reveals Korg Pop! Vinyl figure from Thor: Ragnarok

16 September 2017 11:28 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Taika Waititi, known for his unique sense of humour, has taken on one of the most anticipated films of the year. After his well received Hunt For the Wilderpeople and What We Do In the Shadows, New Zealander Waititi was named director for the third instalment of the Thor franchise, Thor: Ragnarok

The directing job wasn’t enough for this storyteller though, as he decided he needed to be in front of the camera as well. Choosing the rocky alien Korg, a Kronan and born on the planet Ria, Taika will portray the gladiator who first appeared in the Planet Hulk storyline, which is being encompassed into Ragnarok. And now we have a glimpse of the character, thanks to a Pop! Vinyl figure for the Marvel threequel.

The director hilariously revealed this news via his Twitter account, stating that: “The greatest character in the McU, played by the greatest actor in the known world, »

Fiery Concept Art Unveils Surtur’s Dragon As It’ll Appear In Thor: Ragnarok

15 September 2017 7:39 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Surtur’s dragon has been unleashed…no thanks to Disneyland’s forthcoming Guardians of the Galaxy ride.

The “Monsters After Dark” adventure begins September 15th and continues through until October 31st, hence the nod toward Halloween. But Surtur’s fire-spewing beast will soon be of great importance to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and, in particular, Thor: Ragnarok, as it’s set to feature in Taika Waititi’s galactic threequel come November.

It’s one of two mythical creatures included in Ragnarok – you know, aside from the God of Thunder and Mark Ruffalo’s volatile Hulk – after those who combed through the film’s showcase at San Diego Comic-Con spotted the Incredible Hulk getting to grips with Fenris Wolf. By the looks of things, that brawl takes place on Asgard’s Rainbow Bridge, so there’s a good chance Marvel has reserved that particular clash for Thor: Ragnarok‘s mind-melting climax. »

Amusing Avengers 4 set photo featuring Paul Bettany’s Vision

14 September 2017 3:51 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Paul Bettany has taken to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo shot by Mark Ruffalo on the set of Avengers 4, which sees Bettany in full Vision costume, complete with reading glasses, as he takes care of some paperwork…

Interestingly, Vision still seems to be in possession of the Mind Stone, which Thanos would presumably need to have acquired in Avengers: Infinity War in order to complete his Infinity Gauntlet. So, does that mean the Mad Titan is yet to acquire all of the Infinity Stones by Avengers 4, or has he already been defeated?

Another Avengers 4 Set Snap Places Black Widow Between Hulk And Iron Man

14 September 2017 3:12 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

With Vision off doing paperwork, Mark Ruffalo has shared yet another photo from the set of Avengers 4, this time featuring Black Widow and Iron Man.

Framed in the style of a family portrait, the image below finds three of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the civvies, though without any firm details to go on, there’s a small chance this status report is actually a throwback to Ruffalo’s time spent filming Avengers: Infinity War. Production on Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized blockbuster wrapped just prior to San Diego Comic-Con – hence the unveiling of that teaser trailer – and we understand both directors are already hard at work on the untitled sequel.

Much like Ant-Man and the Wasp before it, filming on Avengers 4 is currently taking place in the city of Atlanta, and onlookers have already captured shots of the Russo Brothers orchestrating a scene involving Black Widow and the Yakuza. »

Vision Takes on a Smart New Look in Avengers 4 Photo

13 September 2017 2:26 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With production still continuing on Avengers 4, star Paul Bettany took to social medai to unveil a new photo of the actor in full costume as Vision. The photo was snapped by the actor's co-star, Mark Ruffalo, who captured the actor, "catching up with some paper work," with the actor seen wearing his glasses over his Vision makeup. We've already known for quite some time that Vision will be in both Avengers: Infinity War, which wrapped production in July, and Avengers 4, but this is perhaps the best look we've gotten at Vision thus far.

The image was posted on Paul Bettany's Twitter, which also showcase the motion capture dots on his face, over the Vision makeup. We can't get a good look at what kind of "paper work" the actor is doing, during an apparent break in the production, but the more photos we can get from the set, the better. »

Candid Bts Pic From Avengers 4 Finds Vision Doing Some Paperwork

13 September 2017 7:32 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Even by the McU’s own lofty standards, Vision is a peculiar character.

First introduced in Joss Whedon’s Age of Ultron, the towering synthetic is the near-perfect fusion of J.A.R.V.I.S., the Mind Stone, a vibranium-infused body and the voice of Paul Bettany (Han Solo). It is, essentially, a mind-melting combination of myth and science – of the real, and the fantasy – and Marvel fans can look forward to Vision floating back onto the silver screen via Avengers: Infinity War next year.

Filming on Joe and Anthony Russo’s super-sized blockbuster has already wrapped, but true to their word, the Russo Brothers are already hard at work shooting the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 – for what it’s worth, Marvel’s historic ensemble piece is yet to unveil its title because it seemingly spoils the outcome of Infinity War.

And so, after previous set photos drew attention to the »

Thor’s Captain America: Civil War absence explained by Thor: Ragnarok producer

13 September 2017 3:14 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

It looks like Thor has Star Trek levels of space exploration under his belt by the time we catch up with him in Thor: Ragnarok. According to Screen Rant, during a visit to the Thor: Ragnarok set, producer Brad Winderbaum revealed that, while the Avengers have been clashing on Earth, Thor has spent the past few years hunting for Thanos:

“The journey he’s been on at the beginning of this movie, it’s not like five minutes after Ultron ends we start this movie: it’s a couple years later. And as we know, at the end of Ultron he’s started this quest to find the puppet master, and the Infinity Stones, and all that. What he realized really fast – I don’t think I’m giving too much away because it’s right at the top of the film, but basically that one quest, that universe-ending peril »

Mark Ruffalo Deems Hulk Solo Movie A Pipe Dream Because Universal Still Hold Film Rights

12 September 2017 2:58 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

The fabled Hulk solo movie has been rendered a pipe dream by Mark Ruffalo…again.

Ever since he first climbed aboard the McU, replacing Edward Norton in the process, Ruffalo has been badgered with questions about a potential Bruce Banner standalone pic, but at least for now, the song remains the same: Universal is still in possession of the Hulk film rights, and there’s currently no sign of Marvel Studios brokering a deal a la Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Granted, the red tape surrounding Marvel’s Jade Giant is a little different in the sense that Universal holds distribution rights for the Hulk, and has likely placed an exorbitant price tag on them. There is always a slight possibility that Marvel will pay hand over giant green fist though, and while speaking to Collider, Ruffalo himself did hint that the issues swirling around Hulk aren’t insurmountable.

That’s still Universal’s property… »

Mark Ruffalo Showers Praise On The Leading Ladies Of Thor: Ragnarok

12 September 2017 9:44 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Now that Thor: Ragnarok has been named as the most-anticipated release of the fall season – ahead of Justice League, no less – it’s fair to say that excitement for Marvel and Taika Waititi’s galactic epic is beginning to reach a fever-pitch.

There are, of course, a number of factors that have contributed to that pent-up demand. From the fist-pumping music to Waititi’s signature sense of style, it feels as though Ragnarok is destined to become another bona fide hit for Marvel Studios, and Mark Ruffalo believes that the film’s leading ladies – primarily Cate Blanchett (Hela) and Creed breakout Tessa Thompson – will play a big part in that success.

Chatting to The Indian Express (via Screen Rant) about all things Thor: Ragnarok, the Bruce Banner actor was quick to shower praise on the threequel’s female characters, and began by outlining the mercurial Hela, who is essentially the “personification of death. »

Sebastian Stan sees himself as the Jon Snow of Avengers: Infinity War

12 September 2017 4:37 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

By all accounts, Avengers: Infinity War is shaping up to be a mega movie, featuring multiple characters from across the entire spectrum of the McU, and culminating in a battle for the ages. The stakes seem to be raised considerably this time around and from what we hear, it seems like it’s going to be bigger and bigger.

One character that has had a huge part to play in the Captain America trilogy and will continue as Cap’s right hand man in Infinity War is childhood friend Bucky, a.k.a. brainwashed assassin, Winter Soldier. Portrayed by Sebastian Stan, it appears the odds are stacked against the potential future Captain America, as he faces Thanos and his legions.

Speaking with MTV, Stan likened his character to Game of Thrones‘ Jon Snow, stating that: “I feel a lot like that Jon Snow character [in] ‘Battle of the Bastards. When there »

Taika Waititi considers Thor: Ragnarok to be the first film in a new Thor series

11 September 2017 7:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Back when Thor came out in theaters, everyone was a bit apprehensive. Marvel simply didn’t have the greatest track-record getting their works adapted to film (Yet). The first Iron Man film, at the time, was considered a bit of a “unicorn”. It was a solid film in its own right, and a massive step up for Marvel in terms of quality. Then Iron Man 2 happened. This, of course, led everyone to fear the worst for Thor’s first solo outing.

And how did it do? Not too bad, actually. The film has its detractors, sure, but Chris Hemsworth owned the part, and director Kenneth Branagh perfectly struck a balance between the mythological, and the banal. Thor: The Dark World fared about the same, critically. So what about Thor: Ragnarok, the Asgardian’s third solo adventure? Is there much connective tissue to the other films? According to director Taika Waititi, »
