‘Dice’ Renewed for Season 2 at Showtime

Showtime has renewed “Dice,” giving a second season to the Andrew Dice Clay series, Variety has learned.

Season 2 will consist of seven half-hour episodes. The new season, which will shoot in both Los Angeles and Las Vegas next year, will air in 2017.

The semi-autobiographical series chronicles Andrew Dice Clay, starring as himself, as he tries to live his life while trapped in the skin of “The Diceman.” The sophomore season will dig deeper into the many facets of Clay, beyond the character who once sold out Madison Square Garden, as the unemployed comic struggles in the Las Vegas suburbs to be a loving father, a devoted boyfriend and a professional gambler who is stuck dealing with the effects of his outrageous brand of fame.

Showtime Offers Free Online Preview of ‘Dice’ Pilot, ‘House of Lies’ Premiere

Showtime has made the first episode of its Andrew Dice Clay comedy  and the fifth season premiere of “House of Lies” available for free online prior to their April 10 linear bows in an effort to generate sampling and buzz for both series.

The episodes, cleaned up to meet at TV-14 rating, were made available Friday through Amazon, Apple, YouTube, Hulu, Roku, PlayStation Vue and other streaming platforms.

Inspired by his real life, “Dice” focuses on comedian Clay as he moves his family to Las Vegas in hopes of making a comeback.  The series created by “Old School” writer Scot Armstrong also features Kevin Corrigan and guest appearances by Natasha Leggero, Lorraine Bracco, Adrien Brody, Michael Rapaport, Wayne Newton and Rita Rudner.

April 10th is a big day at Showtime. The fifth season of the House of Lies TV series premieres 9:00pm Et/Pt. The series premiere of Dice follows at 9:30pm. Showtime to Debut ‘Dice’ Full Season Ahead of Cable Premiere

Showtime will release all six episodes of its new comedy series “Dice,” starring Andrew Dice Clay, via its streaming services and on-demand April 10 — the same day that the show is set to make its linear its linear-television premiere.

The full first season will be made available to digital and on-demand customers beginning at midnight that morning. The premiere episode will then be broadcast at 9:30 p.m. that evening on Showtime’s core premium cable channel. Subsequent episodes will be broadcast on successive Sundays.

Showtime has revealed the premiere date and first trailer for the new Andrew Dice Clay comedy series “Dice.”

The show, which premieres April 10 at 9:30 p.m. on the premium cabler, is a scripted semi-autobiographical series following the comedian’s attempt at a career resurgence. Clay moves his family to Las Vegas to try and live his life while still trapped in the skin of “The Diceman.”

“Maybe you forgot, ’89?” Clay says in the trailer. “The most famous comic to ever walk the planet Earth.”
