Ryan Reynolds: From Sitcom Star to Leading Man to Deadpool (Again)
Deadpool hits theaters Friday, Feb. 12, Ryan Reynolds stars in it, and fans are hotly anticipating the funny, raunchy superhero movie. All these things easily couldn't have happened - and that's worth talking about. Here's the thing about Deadpool, as a comic book character: He's not exactly what most people would imagine when they think about the main character in a superhero movie. At best, Deadpool, a.k.a. Wade Wilson, is an anti-hero; he's a wise-cracking Bugs Bunny of a guy, even when he's running around killing people. He's a little unhinged, he's a little sexually fluid, and perhaps strangest of all,

A “Sabrina” Reunion for “Melissa & Joey,” Gwen Stefani Joins “The Voice” and Fox Cancels “Almost Human”

News

It’s official, Gwen Stefani will be a judge on The Voice next season, replacing Christina Aguilera, who is pregnant. Aguilera will return to The Voice next season.

We have the first cancellation leading in to the May upfronts as Fox has let the axe fall on the futuristic, hunktastic buddy cop show Almost Human. While ratings were good enough to merit a second season, apparently there was no room for the show with so many other dramas renewed and three strong drama pilots. I’m a little sad to think that we’ll never see Michael Ealy ask Karl Urban where he can stick his fingers without invading personal space.

My TV’s going to miss these faces.

A beloved Game of Thrones character made his last appearance of the season this past Sunday.

Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies

  • The Backlot
Brace yourselves. This list of the Top 100 Greatest Gay Movies is probably going to generate some howls of protest thanks to a rather major upset in the rankings. Frankly, one that surprised the hell out of us here at AfterElton.

But before we get to that, an introduction. A few weeks ago we asked AfterElton readers to submit up to ten of their favorite films by write-in vote. We conducted a similar poll several years ago, but a lot has happened culturally since then, and a number of worthy movies of gay interest have been released. We wanted to see how your list of favorites had changed.

We also wanted to expand our list to 100 from the top 50 we had done previously. We figured there were finally enough quality gay films to justify the expansion. And we wanted to break out gay documentaries onto their own list (You'll find the

‘Desperate Housewives’ Recap: The Girls’ Murder Cover-Up Is About To Be Exposed!

The 'Fairview four' all had major life crises this week -- except Susan, who spent most of the hour giggling at the word 'penis.' Just when you thought the women of Wisteria Lane were starting to get a grip, the Oct. 23 episode of Desperate Housewives came along and turned their lives completely upside down: Gaby (Eva Longoria) discovered Carlos (Ricardo Chavira) has a drinking problem; Lynette (Felicity Huffman) had a meltdown on her first post-separation date; and Bree (Marcia Cross) realized their little murder cover-up is about to be exposed. During a tense marriage counseling session -- and aren't they all? -- Tom (Doug Savant) told Lynette he hadn't slept with any other women... yet. That one word instantly turned the episode into a made-for-tv movie called How Lynette Got Her Groove Back, which included a super-awkward trip to the bars with René (Vanessa Williams.) But just when Lynette

Fun Video: H'wood Talent Agents Exposed

More and more Hollywood types have been venting their frustrations about the biz and the people they work for/with in the form of computer-generated videos on xtranormal.com. First, it was Gavin Polone's NY assistant's "exchange" with her boss. Then it was a young female writer's "job interview" with Mad Men creator Matt Weiner. Now, a clip written by TV actor Richard Ruccolo, who starred on ABC's Two Guys and a Girl and Lifetime's Rita Rocks, is getting traction online. It depicts a conversation between an actor and his agent and features everything actors wished they had the guts to say to their reps. I have actor friends and know they will find this painfully amusing:

[DVD Review] Rita Rocks - The Complete Season One

Over the years sketch comedy shows, the likes of SNL and MADtv, have proved themselves a spawning ground for gifted young writers and comedians, often serving as a launch pad for successful solo careers on both the small and the big screen. Yet it's a testament to the differing quality between those two shows that the likes of Steve Carell and Tina Fey have risen to such dizzying television heights as The Office and 30 Rock, Nicole Sullivan, arguably MADtv's most successful alumni finds herself fronting shows on The Lifetime Network in relative anonymity.

The story of one under appreciated wife and mother, Rita Rocks is something of role-reversal King of Queens, which is ironic considering Sullivan had a six-year recurring stint as a neurotic friend of the Heffernans. Here the husband, Jay (Richard Ruccolo), is the buttoned down one and Sullivan's Rita the scatterbrain. Stuck in a dead-end job,
