FX Developing The Last of the Mohicans Mini-Series

FX is tapping into the movie world once again for a limited series based on the 1992 classic The Last of the Mohicans. This news comes three months after the network gave the green light for an event series based on the 1996 film Fargo.

Christopher Crowe, who wrote The Last of the Mohicans screenplay with director Michael Mann, is on board to write the pilot script, with Kerry McCluggage and Steve Beck also developing the project. The story, based on James Fenimore Cooper's 1826 novel, will explore the origins of America as a nation, as told through the author's characters.

Christopher Crowe and Kerry McCluggage are executive producing, while Steve Beck is serving as a producer.

The Last of the Mohicans, which starred Daniel Day-Lewis, Madeleine Stowe, and Russell Means, grossed $75 miillion at the domestic box office during its theatrical release in 1992.

He's become a familiar face in Us television drama, but Jason Isaacs has returned to home shores for a second series of BBC One's detective drama Case Histories - based on the best-selling novel series by author Kate Atkinson.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Isaacs reveals how it felt to play the show's lead Jackson Brodie again after two years away, his plans for the future and whether a third series of Case Histories is on the cards...
