Film Review: Tom Hardy’s Mesmerizing ‘Locke’ Makes You Question Who You Are

Chicago – It’s impossible to simply play spectator through the forward-moving experimental indie “Locke” without analyzing your own past. And only a zombie could sit through this one-man film without questioning what choices you’d make in Tom Hardy’s shoes.

The 85-minute film, which stars Tom Hardy and features only him on screen simply in a car, isn’t a movie you can simply be entertained by. Though the credits only list Hardy (who played Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises”) along with various other people for their voice work, the other star of the film who is quietly uncredited is you.

Rating: 4.5/5.0

‘Walking Dead’ Star David Morrissey to Topline in ‘The Driver’

London — “The Walking Dead” star David Morrissey will topline “The Driver,” a three-part thriller for the BBC.

The skein will be penned by Danny Brocklehurst (“Clocking Off,” “Exile,” “Accused”). It is co-created by Brocklehurst and Jim Poyser, and co-produced by Highfield Pictures and Red Production Company. It will be directed by Jamie Payne (“Doctor Who,” “The White Queen,” “The Hour”).

Morrissey stars as cab driver Vince McKee. Claudie Blakeley (“What Remains,” “The Nightwatch”) plays his wife, Ros, and Sacha Parkinson (“Coronation Street”) is their daughter Katie. It also features Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Shaun Dingwall and Lee Ross.

Following a family crisis, Vince accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. It is a redemptive story about a man who, under incredible circumstances, gets a second chance, the BBC said.

The Driver, about an ordinary man who makes a terrible decision, is a three-part thriller from BAFTA Award-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst (Shameless UK). The Walking Dead‘s David Morrissey will play taxi driver Vince McKee, who blames himself for a family mystery and accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. But, says the BBC, it’s ultimately a redemptive story about getting a second chance under incredible circumstances.
