Sarah Jessica Parker could be making her first full-time return to the small screen since Sex and the City went off the air 10 years ago in a new crime drama from the producers of True Detective called Busted.

Sarah Jessica Parker Returning To TV In 'Busted'

Busted will be based on the non-fiction crime thriller Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love, written by reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker about their mission to uncover a police corruption scandal in Philadelphia. The two ultimatly won a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting. It’s unknown which reporter Parker has signed on to play, according to Deadline.

David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me, Band of Brothers) will serve as an executive producer and will direct Busted’s pilot. Screenwriter Don Roos (Marley and Me, Web Therapy) will pen the pilot episode.

Sarah Jessica Parker has a good chance to return to the small screen for a miniseries. She is reported to be set to star in Busted, which is based upon a book entitled Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love. The thrilled by Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker were bought up by Sidney Kimmel Entertainment for the rights to have a miniseries produced by Anonymous Content. Sarah Jessica Parker is looking at a return to television with “Busted,” a new TV series from Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and “True Detective” producer Anonymous Content.

Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (Ske) has optioned the nonfiction book “Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love,” being developed as an hour-long limited series, Ske and Anonymous announced Wednesday. “Sex and the City’s” Parker is attached to star as one of two leads.

David Frankel (“The Devil Wears Prada,” “Marley & Me,” “Hope Springs,” “Band of Brothers,” “Entourage”) is attached to direct the pilot and exec produce, and Don Ross (“Web Therapy,” “Marley & Me”) is set to write the pilot. The series is based on reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker’s book of the same name, released by Harper Collins in March.

‘Brokeback Mountain’ Producer James Schamus Tapped for Outfest Award

Outfest has selected screenwriter and producer James Schamus (“Brokeback Mountain,” “The Ice Storm,” “The Wedding Banquet”) as the recipient of the 18th annual Outfest Achievement Award.

The award is presented in recognition of a body of work that has made a significant contribution to Lgbt film and media.

Schamus will receive the award prior to Outfest’s opening night gala screening of “Life Partners” on July 10 at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

Schamus co-founded Focus Features in 2002 and departed last October as part of a restructuring.

Showtime's Web Therapy session has been extended. The cable network has renewed the comedy based on the web series created by and starring Friends alum Lisa Kudrow, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
