Falling Skies Dares You Not To Look Away

20 May 2013 4:13 PM, PDT | Boomtron | See recent Boomtron news »

Today’s brand new Falling Skies promo is not for the faint of heart nor weak of stomach. In all honesty, it’s pretty gross. Still, the video advertising the science fiction series’ upcoming 3rd season is designed to prove to fans whether or not they would be up to the task of joining the resistance. It’s a test. I only looked away once, so I guess that gives me a 95% chance of survival. I’ll take those odds.

If you pass the test, join in on season 3 of Falling Skies, premiering June 9 at 9 p.m. on TNT. When the show returns, seven months have passed since we last witnessed the survivors in Charleston facing the new alien, who by the way, will be acted by Doug Jones. Also Moon Bloodgood’s Anne is pregnant with hero Tom’s child and about ready to pop. Noah Wyle is Tom. »

Raimi On Aborted "Warcraft," "Spider-Man 4"

6 March 2013 5:08 AM, PST | Dark Horizons | See recent Dark Horizons news »

Sam Raimi is continuing his "Oz: The Great and Powerful" publicity duties and, while speaking with Vulture, has touched upon the fate of two other high-profile projects that he is no longer involved in.

The first is the "World of Warcraft" movie which Raimi was attached to for several years before dropping out (Duncan Jones is currently slated to helm the film). Raimi went into surprising detail regarding his falling out over that project:

"Robert Rodat was working on the script, and it was taking a long time. I think they were getting a little antsy at Legendary Pictures, the production company. Actually, what happened was even more complicated, so let me go back a little bit.

First, they asked me if I wanted to make it, and I said, 'Yes, I love World of Warcraft, and I think it would make a great picture.' So I read a »

Sam Raimi Explains Why He Never Ended up Directing World of Warcraft

5 March 2013 10:13 PM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

Turns out Sam Raimi really wanted to make the movie version of the popular Mmorpg “World of Warcraft”, but after spending a lot of time on the adaptation, ended up not doing the film because people got “antsy”. What people, you ask? The folks at Blizzard Games, as it turns out, the makers of “World of Warcraft”. In an interview with Vulture while out doing the promo rounds for his upcoming “Oz: The Great and Powerful”, Raimi explained what happened with “World of Warcraft” and why he eventually ended up walking on the picture: Robert Rodat was working on the script, and it was taking a long time. I think they were getting a little antsy at Legendary, the production company. Actually, what happened was even more complicated, so let me go back a little bit. First, they asked me if I wanted to make it, and I said, “Yes, »

Sam Raimi Blames Blizzard for World Of Warcraft Falling Apart

5 March 2013 3:50 PM, PST | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

I was really looking forward to seeing Sam Raimi's vision of World of Warcraft, but as you know, it didn't work out. There were no clear details at the time on why Raimi's project fell apart, but now Source Code director Duncan Jones is on board to bring it to life, which is equally as exciting for me. Jones is a great director, and I'm excited to see what his vision is. In a recent interview with Vulture Raimi was asked what he thought about Jones directing the movie to which he replied,

I loved his movie Moon, and I think he's a strikingly talented director. I bet that if anyone can do a great job with it, it's him.

The director was then asked what the biggest ostacle was for him in making the movie, and he basically blamed Blizzard for their lack of communication.

And then, with the wave of a wizard’s staff, Raimi was off the project. 9 Movies With Titles That Spoil Their Own Ending

28 February 2013 1:00 PM, PST | NextMovie | See recent NextMovie news »

A fun joke to have told your friends around the time that "Titanic" came out was, "Spoiler alert: The boat hits the iceberg!" I'm sure many, many people used that joke during the mid to late '90s, and all of them reaped the many benefits which followed, from more friends to more respect to a deeper appreciation of themselves as people.

Hell, making that joke even started Barack Obama's political career!

Indeed, not every movie is enjoyed just for its surprise ending. Some movie endings, in fact, are even built right into the title.

Here are nine that ask you to enjoy the journey, not the destination.

"The Shawshank Redemption," (1994)

"The Shawshank Redemption" would have presumably been a much tougher studio sell had the title been "Tim Robbins is Wrongly Convicted of a Crime and Then Dies in Prison After a Few Decades of Friendship with Morgan Freeman, »

Jaimie Alexander Comes Back To "Thor: The Dark World"

7 January 2013 7:02 PM, PST | SneakPeek | See recent SneakPeek news »

Although she was accidentally injured on set, October 2012, requiring an emergency hospital stay, actress Jaimie Alexander made a complete recovery, returning to Pinewood's London Studios to complete filming of "Thor: The Dark World" and her role as the Norse warrior-goddess 'Sif'.

"I just finished shooting about a week and a half ago," said Alexander during a recent interview. "There's going to be a bit of a darker feel and obviously a lot more action.

"We get to explore different realms a lot more and you see a lot more Asgard; and you get to know the people of Asgard. There is more with Sif.

"We sort of explore the Thor-Sif relationship a little bit; kind of. It's more like getting a feel of who these people are, how the way they are with each other. It was really fun...
