Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment Develops U.S. Remake of ‘The Bureau,’ ‘Joan of Arc’ Series (Exclusive)

Pascal Breton’s European indie studio and production company Federation Entertainment is developing a U.S. remake of Eric Rochant’s hit spy thriller “The Bureau,” and a series adaptation of iconic French heroine Joan of Arc.

Federation Entertainment is teaming with Alex Berger and Eric Rochant’s banner The Oligarchs Productions, which is also the producer of the original series.

The Bureau” stars Matthieu Kassovitz (“Munich”) as a member of the French Secret Service’s clandestine branch who returns to his home base after a six-year mission in Damascus. The show has been sold worldwide.

The series has been a hit in English-language markets. In the U.S. and Canada, “The Bureau” launched in June 2016 on iTunes and ranked within the Top Five, while in the U.K. it rolled out on Amazon Prime.

Cannes: Sandrine Kiberlain to Preside Over Camera d’Or Jury

Paris – French actress Sandrine Kiberlain is set to preside over the Camera d’Or jury at the upcoming 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Kiberlain, along with a jury comprising industry professionals, will award the prize reserved for a directorial debut film playing in either the official selection of the festival, Directors’ Fortnight or Critics’ Week.

One of France’s most popular and critically acclaimed actresses, Kiberlain has starred in more than 40 films since breaking through in Eric Rochant’s thriller “The Patriots.” Her most notable films include Laetitia Masson’s “En avoir (ou pas),” Stephane Brize’s “Mademoiselle Chambon,” and Albert Dupontel’s black comedy “9 Month Stretch,” which earned Kiberlain a César for best actress in 2014.

Kiberlain has also worked with Benoît Jacquot (“Seventh Heaven”), Claude Miller (“Alias Betty”), Nicole Garcia (“A View of Love”), Alain Resnais (“Life of Riley”) and André Téchiné (“Being 17”).

Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment has boarded Andrew Davies’ upcoming adaptation of “Les Miserables” and “AIDS,” an ambitious medical thriller drama set against the backdrop of the epidemic’s outbreak in the 80’s.

A one-hour drama series, “AIDS” opens in the early 80’s, when the virus started spreading and causing deaths. It centers on two teams of French and American researchers from the Institut Pasteur in Paris and National Institute of Cancer in the Maryland who embarked on a mission to discover and identify the AIDS virus.

“AIDS” is being developed by Mayane Films’s Georges Benayoun (“Wicker Park,””L’appartement”) and Franck Nouchi, a doctor-turned-journalist who worked for France’s biggest newspaper, “Le Monde,” in the 80’s. The series will be based on true facts and will feature real-life characters within the medical world.

Federation Entertainment Seals More Deals on French Spy Thriller ‘The Bureau’ (Exclusive)

Paris – Federation Entertainment has closed a raft of deals on “The Bureau,” Canal Plus’ contemporary spy thriller created by Eric Rochant (“Mafiosa”).

Sundance Now in the U.S. and Rialto Channel in New Zealand pre-bought season three of “The Bureau” from Federation Entertainment, which also signed deals with Russia’s Channel One and Spain’s Movistar Plus for the first two seasons. Movistar Plus also picked up season three, while the U.K.’s Arrow Film nabbed video rights to the first two seasons.

Commissioned by Canal Plus’ creation originale label, the series was produced by Alex Berger and Rochant for The Oligarchs Productions in association with Pascal Breton’s Federation Entertainment.
