The top four dancers on So You Think You Can Dance hit the stage at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood for part one of the season-five finale. The final four, Brandon, Evan, Jeanine and Kayla, pulled out all the stops to impress America, but two dancers in particular stood out. According to judge Nigel Lythgoe, Brandon and Jeanine are his frontrunners—so why was the crowd of 3,000 chanting Evan's name? What'd we see tonight, and who's poised to win Sytycd? Group Dance: The show began with a Wade and Amanda Robson-choreographed piece where two jocks hit on two cheerleaders. It was nice to see the top four all dancing together, but in our humble opinion, Evan looked like the little brother...

The illustrious top 10 of So You Think You Can Dance's fifth season saw its first voter-decided cut on Thursday's episode. Having avoided the bottom three all season with popular partner Evan, Randi was unable to escape it after a mediocre paso doble [1], a bad wig, and a chemistry-lacking partnership with Kupono who was no stranger to the bottom three himself -- and even seemed content to have made it this far. Both were the first dance casualties of the final lap. "Some styles need a little more time," explained judge Debbie Allen, who praised both dancers while arguing that routines with tap, ballet and other styles need more refining. Also in the bottom four: Melissa, who now, no matter how well she dances, must compete against Jeanine, Kayla and Janette (a dilemma that speaks for itself), and -- this was a shocker -- Ade, who week after week has been wowing everyone.

After the top ten of "So You Think You Can Dance" season 5 delivered impressive performances Wednesday, America dropped the axe on two least favorite dancers Thursday, July 16. The elimination show was kicked off with the top ten performing Wade and Amanda Robson-choreographed routine to Janet Jackson's "So Much Betta".
Before a preview of what happened on performance night, host Cat Deeley came on stage to announce that the show grabbed 4 Emmy Awards' nominations for Choreography. Then, results for the top five girls were read. Janette who was the first to be called, was safe, but Randi became the first one to get in the bottom two. Jeanine was next and she's also safe, leaving Kayla and Melissa. Melissa joined Randi in the unsafe group.
After a short break, more footage from the upcoming season 6 auditions were previewed and the top five boys were up. Jason was the first man safe followed by Evan.

Aw, sad Thursdays are getting worse every week. Luckily, the sad So You Think You Can Dance elimination always comes with a heaping helping of entertainment, as evidenced by tonight's tremendous top 10 group number, and the live Black Eyed Peas performance. Let's discuss what went down and who went home! The highlight of the night was clearly the Asia-influenced group dance choreographed by Wade and Amanda Robson. We'll go as far as to say it was an instant classic, thanks to the combination of moves, makeup, set decoration, lighting and music. Outstanding work by everyone over at team Sytycd. The other big number was the Black Eyed Peas performing "I Gotta Feeling." It was fantastic to see Stacy...
