Production starts today in Melbourne on an ABC comedy written and starring comedian Josh Thomas.
The six-episode, 30-minute sitcom called Please Like Me is produced by Todd Abbott, producer of Rove, Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey and The Dream with Roy & H.G and directed by Matthew Saville, who directed episodes of The Slap, Cloudstreet and We Can Be Heroes.
As well as Thomas, the series stars Debra Lawrance of Home & Away, David Roberts of Offspring, Judi Farr of Unfolding Florence and Caitlin Stasey of Tomorrow, When the War Began.
The series is “about growing up quickly, and about realising that your parents are not heroes, but dopes with no idea what’s going on – just like you,” according to the ABC.
Debbie Lee, ABC head of comedy, said: “We’re so happy to be bringing Josh’s world to ABC TV in what promises to be such a funny and surprising series. »

Fellow tweeter David Roberts drew our attention to this amazing photo from Barack Obama’s campaign website, accurately noting that this pic of Joe Biden on the campaign trail “couldn’t be more Biden-y” (click for Full Size): What is he doing in that photo??? He’s got one foot up on a wooden stool on a stage wearing sunglasses and intensely scowling off into the distance in front of a crowd that isn’t even focused on him. Meaning, it’s perfect. Maybe it’s one of those Facebook photos where he was posing for an inside joke then Obama tagged him so everyone saw it and he’s like “Awww, come on, I look like an idiot if you don’t know the story behind that photo!” (This is 97% of my own Facebook photos, so I sympathize, dude.) Needless to say, the photo lends itself very well »
