- Daughter of the late Majority Leader of the House Hale Boggs (Thomas Hale Boggs) and Lindy Boggs (born Marie Corinne Morrison Claiborne). Her parents were both members of the U.S. House of Representatives from Louisiana, her father from 1941 to 1943 and then from 1947 until his disappearance in 1972, and her mother from 1973 to 1991.
