The character Harley Quinn may not have originated on the pages of DC Comics (she first appeared on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992), but it didn.t take long for her to become a fan favorite. She makes her big screen debut later this year in Suicide Squad (she briefly appeared in live-action on the short-lived TV series Birds of Prey, and showed up on Arrow), played by Margot Robbie. What seen thus far looks promising, and the three words Robbie uses to describe her character should get fans even more pumped than they already are. Margot Robbie on the appeal of playing Harley Quinn, and how she badgered Will Smith to sign up for Suicide Squad...

We're hearing that a new trailer for the Suicide Squad movie is set to land the week after next, which should give us an extended look at the second of this year's DC movie universe releases.

Suicide Squad is being directed by David Ayer, and it stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez and Adam Beach. But it's arguably the debut of the popular Batman nemesis Harley Quinn on the big screen that's garnered the most attention thus far. Well, that and Jared Leto's approach to playing The Joker.

Robbie has been nattering about playing Harley Quinn, jokingly telling Cineplex that "Harley is creepy, violent, crazy - all of the things that I aspire to be! »
