ABC aired the 26th annual Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade this morning, with presenters Kelly Ripa, Ryan Seacrest, and Nick Cannon and performances by Celine Dion, The Jonas Brothers, Anika Noni Rose and American Idol winner Kris Allen, who did a fun rootsy rendition of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." I have to say that I probably would have loved the entire thing if I was a four-year-old who loves Cinderella, or the parent of a four-year-old who loves Cinderella. But as a jaded thirtysomething entertainment journalist I found it a bit disappointing that the whole thing looked so obviously »

Grab that cup of joe. Bryant Gumbel dropped a bombshell on his "Live! with Regis and Kelly" co-host Tuesday morning.
The 61-year-old sportscaster and TV host told Kelly Ripa that he had major surgery for cancer two months ago.
"They opened up my chest. They took a malignant tumor and they took a part of my lung and some other goodies," said Gumbel.
The morning conversation had begun innocently enough. Ripa was trying to encourage Gumbel, who was subbing for Regis Philbin, to learn a few steps from an upcoming guest, "Dancing With the Stars" pro Julianne Hough.
"I can't dance," said Gumbel. "I can't. I have a note from my doctor."
The full explanation came then that Gumbel had only told select people, even keeping the information from his staff at "Real Sports." Well, quite a few more people know now.

Diane Sawyer says this is her last week as co-anchor of "Good Morning America" on ABC.
This news (via the Associated Press) doesn't come as a huge surprise, since last week Charles Gibson gave an official date for his departure from "World News." Sawyer is replacing him as anchor starting on Monday, Dec. 21.
It is a little surprising that she's leaving a week earlier than Gibson is leaving "World News." Reportedly George Stephanopoulos has been offered Sawyer's anchor job at "Good Morning America" but so far there's no word as to whether he has accepted, so "Gma" may be one host short come Monday, Dec. 14.
Sawyer has hosted "Good Morning America" for ten years (almost 3000 shows) but will now become just the second woman to host a nightly network news program. Now if we can just get Kelly Ripa over on the "NBC Nightly News," we'll be all set.

Last night's 30 Rock was legitimately one of the best episodes ever, with everyone trying to be someone they're not (plus some people trying to be each other). "Dealbreakers Talk Show #0001″ was one for the record books, except for one thing: Not enough Kenneth! These were the 10 best lines, but it was really hard to narrow it down this week. Really, really hard. "Somebody bring me some haaaam!" -- Liz, who's a swarthy, big-hipped Kelly Ripa "I hope you enjoyed the kissing followed by my genuine interest in that TV dance competition." -- Astronaut Mike Dexter "I knew it! Last night's episode of 30 Rock, "Dealbreakers Talk Show #0001," featured exactly what the title says - Liz's first attempt at being a star, hosting her Dealbreakers talk show.
This spurred countless jokes about Liz's perceived unattractiveness, as well as some slightly-cliched but still entertaining role reversals with the staffers at the Tgs offices.
Frank took over for Liz in the writers' room while she was doing her thing, and started to look and act just like her. Behind the camera, Liz channeled her inner diva Jenna.
Out to sabotage them all? The hilarious Devin Banks (Will Arnett), Jack's gay, corporate arch-nemesis who recurs every so often and never fails to leave us in stitches.
Elsewhere, an introspective Tracy was determined to win more awards and boost his serious acting cred. Lol. Below are some classic 30 Rock quotes from Thursday night ...
As usual, 30 Rock provided witty puns ... some not even spoken aloud. »
