What happens to a one-hit-wonder girlband when their allocated 15 minutes of fame comes to an abrupt end, and they’re no longer the hottest young things in coordinated but subtly different outfits?
It’s a question answered in all-singing, all-dancing style by effervescent sitcom Girls5eva, which debuted on US streamer Peacock in 2021 but is now finally available to stream on Netflix, where a third season will arrive later this year. Created by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt writer Meredith Scardino and exec-produced by Tina Fey, this underrated gem has enough energy and emotion to fill stadiums, and more Nineties-style pop treats than an ancient Now That’s What I Call Music disc. It’s This Is Spinal Tap for turn-of-the-millennium girl groups, turning the synths up to 11.

Den Of Geek raises a glass to some lesser-known soap star pop singles, from Coronation Street to Neighbours and more...
“Do you remember the guy who played that guy in that thing? His song was good wasn't it?”
The above is an example of a conversation regularly heard in our house. The only variants are that sometimes it was 'that girl from that thing', and a lot of the time the song was far from good.
Well sod it – I think we as a nation need to have more discussions about Craig McLachlan and Stefan Dennis. It's the only way our society will grow. So here are 12 songs from Soapland that weren't done by Kylie, Jason, or Kylie and Jason.
1. Kevin Kennedy (Curly Watts) – Bulldog Nation

'The Big Reunion' bands are planning to hide alcohol from Lee Ryan following his meltdown earlier this year. 5th Story, Damage, A1 and 3T are set to join forces with Blue, 911 and Five for The Big Reunion - The Boy Band Tour in October, but the groups are worried that too much boozing in front of the 31-year-old singer could send him off the rails again. Adam Rickitt - who is a member of super-group 5th Story - told The Sun newspaper: ''He's had an awful time but he's handled himself so well. ''I'll still have a drink but I'll be...

Ex-Big Brother housemate Kimberly Kisselovich has appeared on Big Brother's Bit On The Side, giving her first interview since leaving the house.
Speaking to host Emma Willis and guests Lauren Harries, Adam Rickitt and ex-housemate Danielle, when asked if she was "still feeling Steven Goode", Kimberly said: "I'm still feeling Steve Goode."
Kimberly and Steven became the subject of gossip in the compound after their now infamous 'open it' moment.
When asked if Steven thought the same way about their relationship, Kimberly said: ''We're definitely on the same page."
Kimberly appeared on screen with what appeared to be a baby bump, only to remove the fake bump to cheers from the crowd.
She continued to say: "I noticed I was falling for him the first time he faced eviction and thought why do I feel this way? I don't want to feel this way."

Britain's Got Talent contestant Andrew Derbyshire sent us back to 2001 this weekend when he revealed during his audition that he had previously competed on Pop Idol, the granddaddy of TV talent shows.
After watching him wow the judges, Digital Spy took Andrew on a trip down memory lane, presenting him with cringeworthy images of himself, Simon Cowell and Ant & Dec from the Pop Idol days as we discussed how things have changed over the last 13 years...

We're feeling a little bereft. The Big Reunion has come to an end - though at least it was with a bang! The show went out in style with the much-trailed Hammersmith gig and now it's time to pack up our trouser skirts, heart glitter and gel pens and get back to our adult lives (well, as adult as we get anyway.) But at least the last hurrah was a good'un - here's what we noticed from the last episode of The Big Reunion's second series...
1. Kian Egan has a filthy mouth.
"Hear'Say, kiss my arse." Kian. We expected better from a former Westlife member from Westlife.
2. Andi Peters' voiceover just got even more ridiculous.
It started reasonably enough, with talk of clutching crocheted Adam Rickitt dolls to our bosoms, which we related to, obviously. Then it just got silly: "Jade is wearing a hat." Then it got...

We thought the stressful part of The Big Reunion was over, but we were wrong. Sure, everyone's got their hideously awkward meetings out of the way, and the rehearsals started out all friendly, but it was only a matter of time before the nerves began to kick in - with intense results. Read on to find out what we found out from this episode, which focused on rehearsals for the all-important Hammersmith gig...
1. Damage might seem smooth, but their dancing needed some serious work.
"It was just a bit of a shambles." Those are Jade's words, not ours - though frankly, if he hadn't said it, we would have done. Yes, Noel can pull out a backflip. But there was some serious awkward shuffling going on. "Rahs used to be the main dancer," Jade snarked. "I Still Am," Rahs yelled, later admitting that he'd "completely destroyed" the image of himself as a smooth mover.

It took us forever to recover from Girl Thing's so-tense-it-almost-snapped meeting on last week's Big Reunion, and now we have to deal with Damage's excruciating meet-up! Luckily, we also got lots of Kenzie's frankly terrible dancing and even some catty moments from the all-group rehearsal, so read on to find out what we learned from this episode...
1. Kenzie is a terrible dancer.
Yes, we kind of mentioned this already. But seriously, did you see him? In 5th Story's first rehearsals, he announced that he is "good at staging - walking and that". "Walking?" choreographer Paul Domaine repeated, deadpan, wondering what he'd got himself into. Kenzie did a little awkward shuffle thing which made us fall in love a little bit. To be fair to him, Blazin' Squad were hardly known for their complex dance routines, but after seeing this we're surprised Kenzie can even put one foot...

Well, that was intense. If it wasn't Girl Thing at each other's throats in Ireland or Kavana 'not putting the effort in' at 5th Story's studio sessions, it all got a bit heated in Big Reunion land - we needed at least three cuppas to handle the drama. But we survived, and we're all a bit more knowledgeable - here's what we learned from this week's episode...
1. Jodi Albert agreed to host Girl Thing's reunion at the Irish mansion she shares with Kian Egan.
Honestly, what was she thinking? How those tasteful sofas escaped without blood splatter, we'll never know. On the other hand, maybe it's because almost the first thing Jodi said to Linzi when seeing her for the first time in 13 years was that she had to take her shoes off or Kian would kill them.
2. Everyone in Girl Thing was terrified about the reunion.
"I'm s**ting myself,...

A video clip from the next episode of The Big Reunion has been released.
The fourth instalment in the show's series focuses on 3T and Eternal, with 3T having a final family get-together before coming to the UK, and Eternal meeting for the first time in years.
American band 3T are made up of Taj, Tj and Tarrall Jackson, the nephews of Michael Jackson. They are shown playing a game of Pictionary before flying over to take part in The Big Reunion.
Eternal, who are taking part in the show without member Louise Redknapp, were also filmed talking through their differences.
The girls discuss the moment they sacked member Kelle Bryan by fax and how they weren't communicating as a band.
Other bands taking part in the show are A1, Girl Thing and Damage as well as supergroup 5th Story consisting of Kenzie, Dane Bowers, Adam Rickitt, Kavana and Gareth Gates.

Read on to find out what we learned from their confessions...
1. We miss Pop Idol.
Who knew? But seeing just a glimpse of Gareth Gates on Pop Idol back in the day brought memories flooding back of Dr Fox and Pete Waterman, of Ant & Dec hosting (we forgot!) and of how generally all-round great it was. So thanks for that, Big Reunion.
2. Gareth Gates regrets denying the whole "Katie Price" thing.

"Too much time has been spent on what the facts are..."
That stonking Katie Hopkins line came towards the end of the eyeball-scratchingly painful two-hour slog that was The Big British Immigration Row.
It neatly summed up the pointlessness and vile nature of Channel 5's live TV talk show, which it laughably billed as "a timely and robust contribution to this vital national debate".
Hot off the 'success' of the equally tiresome Big British Benefits Row (Why is everything always big? And why is it always a row?), this follow-up was guilty of being even more preposterous, even more ugly and with an extra hour tagged on it, even more boring.
Like walking into a pub and listening to a selection of drunkards furiously debating, 'What came first - the chicken or the egg?', it was flabbergastingly vapid and bewilderingly bad in equal measure. Not that Channel 5 seems to care.

Myleene Klass has responded to claims made in tonight's (February 6) episode of The Big Reunion.
Viewers saw Linzi from Girl Thing explain that her vocals were on the backing track of Hear'Say's 2001 hit 'Pure and Simple'.
The track was originally recorded by Girl Thing, but there is dispute over whether the group helped to write the song.
Linzi insists that she was heavily involved, while the song's credited writers deny that the girls had any input.

Klass was chosen to join Hear'Say alongside Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan and Danny Foster when the group was formed on 2001 show Popstars.
The Big Reunion returned for its second series tonight, with Damage and Girl Thing taking the spotlight in the first episode.

1. Andi Peters is still cheeky.
Well. Andi's narration was one of the best things about tonight's show, but we admit to blushing at times. "Simon Cowell splashed his massive wad in the direction of a famous French landmark." Andi, this is a family show! (Praise, though, for dubbing 'Freak Me' a "bonking anthem".)
2. Girl Thing's Nikki is voice twins with Philomena Cunk from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe.
Seriously. It's creepy.
3. Victoria Beckham is loads of fun.

Wasn't pop music better in the old days? It's all just noise nowadays, isn't it?
You can call us old grandads if you want, but if, as we do, you lap up pop nostalgia like the chap in charge of the Magic FM playlist, then the return of The Big Reunion will be a source of much excitement.
To celebrate the show's return, we've created a pop-tastic playlist of the Greatest Hits from the Class of 2014.
Eternal, Blazin' Squad, Adam Rickitt - what more could you want on a playlist? Ok, maybe don't play it too loud when you're on your morning commute tomorrow.
The Big Reunion returns tonight (February 6) at 9pm on ITV2.

The Big Reunion supergroup 5th Story have revealed that they have worked hard to make their individual songs sound like they belong to a band.
Adam Rickitt, Kenzie, Kavana, Gareth Gates and Dane Bowers have teamed up for the ITV2 series and will perform each other's tracks during the programme.
They told Digital Spy that they spent a week in the studio recording their tracks, with Rickitt explaining that they all got on with the job well.
"Three of the songs were solo songs; what I think was really telling was that when it came to doing it as a band, nobody was precious about it," he said.
"Nobody was like, 'No, that's my line, sod off'. No-one was like, 'I'm the star of the song'."
Meanwhile, Gates pointed out that they all have different musical backgrounds - "from urban to dance to pop to bhangra" - but said they...

"Ooh, that's an awkward first episode!" Rickitt joked.
Meanwhile, Kavana explained: "There were other reasons as well... You make decisions when you're young, but one of the reasons, yeah, was because my manager took on this guy from Coronation Street called Adam Rickitt!"
Rickitt admitted that he felt "so guilty" about the situation for years, adding: "When we met up, it was one of the first things I said to him."
