Kevin joined the Backstreet Boys about a year after his father died of cancer. He founded the environmental organization, "Just Within Reach" (JWR), in memory of him. JWR was his fathers initials (Jerald Wayne Richardson).

Father, Jerald Wayne Richardson died of cancer on August 26, 1991.

Has two older brothers, Jerald & Tim, and a nephew, Will, who is Tim and his wife Tracy's son.

He appeared in London's West End Production of 'Chicago' from the 22nd September - 1st november 2003 as lawyer Billy Flynn.

Bandmates: Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Howie Dorough

Kevin and Backstreet Boys group mate Brian Littrell are first cousins. Kevin's mother, Ann, is the older sister of Brian's father, Harold.

23rd June 2006 - announced he is leaving the Backstreet Boys, after 13 years with them.

His son, Mason, was born at 4:56 am on Tuesday, July 3rd, weighing in at 8 lbs, 2 oz and 20.5 inches long.

Announced by The Backstreet Boys on April 30 2012, at their concert at The O2 Arena in London, England, that they will be recording in July and Kevin will be returning on a permanent basis.

(February 2002) Working as lawyer Billy Flynn in the Broadway company of Chicago.

(January 2004) Working on new Backstreet Boys album due late summer early fall.

(January 2005) Kevin, Brian, Nick, A. J. and Howie (The Backstreet Boys) have finished their fifth album due fall 2005.

(April 2005) Currently on tour with the Backstreet Boys and released the groups newest single "Incomplete."

(June 2006) Quit the music group The Backstreet Boys to pursue other interest.

(April 2012) Rejoined The Backstreet Boys
