Giant Insects Attack Coachella in Insane Dead Ant Trailer
The trailer for Dead Ant is here and it looks like a classic monster movie mixed with Spinal Tap. The movie is a comic reimagining of the sci-fi classic of Them!. The B-movie vibe is laid on extra thick in the new trailer that features Sean Astin tripping out on Peyote and Tom Arnold pulling out a gun to shoot a giant ant after explaining that he carries the gun because he's in the music business. If that doesn't make you want to watch the movie, who knows what will. The impressive cast looks like they had a blast making Dead Ant and the soundtrack is stuffed with fake 80s metal adding to the fun.

The story starts when the "one-hit-wonder" glam-metal band "Sonic Grave" embark on a trip to Coachella in hopes of a comeback, but end up in No-Chella since their manager couldn't book them for the official

Film Review: ‘Hickok’

Film Review: ‘Hickok’
As Hollywood has more or less given up on conventional westerns as mass-audience magnets, diehard fans of the genre have come to rely on a steady stream — or, at the very least, a consistent trickle — of small-budget, independently produced oaters to satisfy their appetite for old-fashioned sagebrush sagas. “Hickok,” the latest example of its unabashedly retrograde subgenre (the shoot-’em-up variety), contains a few elements — earthy language, fleeting nudity — that might trouble those purists who still pine for westerns of a more innocent era. But less censorious aficionados likely will be willing to look past the rough edges and enjoy the simple pleasures provided by a respectfully sincere retelling of a familiar legend.

At the center of this particular story is James Butler Hickok, a.k.a. Wild Bill Hickok, the Old West icon who inspired numerous legends — and, later, countless movies and TV dramas — with his exploits as a lawman, gambler

Newswire: Luke Hemsworth to sling guns in indie Western Abilene

  • The AV Club
The world blessed us with another Hemsworth this year, and now the elder brother of Liam and Chris is making his next move, going from Westworld to an indie Western. According to Deadline, Luke Hemsworth is set to play Wild Bill Hickok in Abilene. It looks like Hemsworth will be following in the footsteps of his kid brother: Liam Hemsworth jumped into the Western game earlier this year, starring with Woody Harrelson in The Duel. Like Hemsworths, Westerns are an inexhaustible resource.

Timothy Woodward Jr.’s upcoming Western was written by Michael Lanahan, and also stars Trace Adkins, Kris Kristofferson, Bruce Dern and Cameron Richardson. In Abilene, the rough-around-the-edges gunslinger and lawman Wild Bill goes to Abilene looking for an ex but gets roped into being town marshal, having to deal with the town’s outsized outlaw problem. Stars: Richard Speight Jr, Cameron Richardson, Lindsey Ginter, Anthony L.Fernandez, Gene Gabriel, Ted Heyck, James Crosby | Written and Directed by Kathryn F. Taylor

Kathryn F. Taylor makes her writing, directing and producing debut with horror flick The Evil Gene. I say this as, watching the film, it’s interesting to know that this is a project from someone very much new to filmmaking. In some ways it shows, but in other ways she shows a keen eye for it and displays skills that are needed to sculpt a long career.

Griff (Richard Speight Jr) is an agent in the FBI who is given the job to go to a correctional facility. It’s here that Griff encounters inmates that aren’t exactly what you’d call “the usual”, but rather sufferers of some kind of disorder that causes them to become extremely violent and psychotic. The more time he spends in the place,
