Alain Resnais was born on June 3, 1922 in Vannes, Morbihan, France as Alain Pierre Marie Jean Georges Resnais. He was a director and editor, known for Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959), Last Year at Marienbad (1961) and Night and Fog (1955). He was married to Sabine Azéma and Florence Malraux.
