Mike Reid was born on January 19, 1940 in Hackney, London, England as Michael Reid. He is known for his work on EastEnders (1985), Snatch (2000) and Yus My Dear (1976). He was married to Shirley Collins and Sheila Reid. He died on July 29, 2007 in Marbella, Spain.

The character Dave Angel, Eco-Warrior portrayed by Simon Day on BBC's The Fast Show (1994), is based on Mike Reid's character from EastEnders (1985).
He wrote an autobiography titled T'rific.
One daughter, Jane Hall (born 1961), from his marriage to Sheila.
Two sons: Michael Reid born in 1962 and Mark Edward Reid (b. 1965 - d. 1990), from his marriage to Shirley Collins.
After working as a stand-up comedian in clubs and on board cruise liners, he worked as a film extra and stunt driver, working on films such as Casino Royale (1967), Up the Junction (1968) and The Dirty Dozen (1967).
