24 Hours of...Christmas Joy

25 December 2011 5:10 AM, PST | Shadowlocked | See recent Shadowlocked news »

I have the theme from Gremlins stuck in my head and it’s all your fault!

What better way to celebrate Christ’s Birthday (Observed) than with a full day’s programming of movies that have nothing to do with Him? I figure we’ll get to that next year on Christ’s Deathday (Observed); for now, these flicks of love, gratitude and a whole spectrum of other heartwarming words will have to suffice.

8:00 Am - It’s a Wonderful Life (1946) - 130 min

It’s a movie everybody’s seen! Or at least that used to be the case. I’m old and cognizant enough to remember the clichéd time when It’s a Wonderful Life was shown on seemingly every channel, round-the-clock from Thanksgiving to Christmas Day, but even though that ended roughly fifteen to twenty years ago, the stereotype remains. These days, I think less and less »

Warehouse 13 Christmas Episode: Eddie McClintock Q&A

Do you believe in the Butterfly Effect? Have you noticed the smell of fudge, when there is no fudge? Tonight (12/6) Syfy gifts Warehouse 13 fans with a dazzling nod to Frank Capra's Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life, in which Agent Pete Lattimer's swept from existence causing tragic effects to his beloved teammates' lives.

Executive Producer Jack Kenny deftly helms this heartwarming tale named, "The Greatest Gift," after the story Capra's cherished classic was based on. When I last spoke with series co-lead Eddie McClintock for Tvom (previewing Warehouse 13's season finale) he still hadn't seen this episode but was proud that Kenny had asked him to up the angst since last year's Christmas special was criticized by a certain segment of fandom. Eddie reiterates on the subject, "I just like this year's Christmas episode better because I felt it was a little too, »

'Eureka,' 'Warehouse 13,' 'Haven' stars preview holiday shows

5 December 2011 3:14 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

It's that time of year again. Time for the Syfy holiday specials. This year, we're getting some holiday joy from "Eureka," "Warehouse 13" and "Haven." We were lucky enough to chat with stars Colin Ferguson, Eddie McClintock and Emily Rose about the specials, their popularity and whether or not there is still a chance for "Eureka" to be saved.

"Eureka" has an animated special this year," Ferguson said. "We do 15 minutes of live action, and in an attempt to make snow in Eureka, we turn everyone into a cartoon, and hijinks ensue. We go through about 10 different kinds of animation and then our hour ends and nine o'clock starts..."

McClintock continued, "We have 'Warehouse 13' which is basically our version of 'It's a Wonderful Life.' We find out ... that Pete never existed. He has to come back into their lives and convince them that they should partner »

'Eureka,' Warehouse 13' and 'Haven' bring the holidays to Syfy

30 November 2011 6:56 PM, PST | Zap2It - From Inside the Box | See recent Zap2It - From Inside the Box news »

Syfy is presenting their holiday specials for "Eureka," "Warehouse 13" and "Haven." We've had a chance to watch and they're full of awesome geekery!

On "Eureka," Jack (Colin Ferguson) and Jo (Erica Cera) find themselves lost on their way to the photon generator and appear to run into the nature-loving Taggart (Matt Frewer), who has transformed into a polar bear living in an ice cave. Everyone ends up in various states of animation. You'll see your favorite show represented. Kind of amazing. We're so sad to see this show go!

On "Warehouse 13," Pete (Eddie McClintock) is seen reaching high on the shelves to put back Rudolph's nose, when suddenly he falls on the slippery snow on the ground, taking down several other pieces with him. He returns these items back onto the shelf and heads back inside. Upon entering he notices two investigators and quickly asks Pete to show his hands. »

Vaff 2011 – Almost Perfect

8 November 2011 11:00 AM, PST | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Vancouver, Canada – Whether it be rides to the airport, relationship advice or a place to crash, whenever anyone in her family needs ‘saving’, Vanessa (Kelly Hu) is the one they rely on.

But as things get complicated with her almost perfect new boyfriend, family problems arise that become too much for Vanessa to handle.

The 30-something career woman must try to find a balance between her demanding family and her new found love as Vanessa realizes she is the one who needs to be saved from it all.

Director Bertha Bay-Sa Pan’s film, Almost Perfect, shows how difficult it can sometimes be to juggle love, commitment and family.

The film gives a realistic portrayal of Asian-American siblings and tells a story that many Asian-Americans and other cultures alike can relate to.

Almost Perfect features good solid performances by the actors such as Tina Chen who played a very convincing mother. »

For Mark Rylance, it's Rooster in Jerusalem. For Alison Steadman, it's Bev in Abigail's Party … leading actors on the parts they will never escape

Mark Rylance

Plays Johnny "Rooster" Byron in Jerusalem by Jez Butterworth, which opened at the Royal Court in 2009 and travelled to Broadway. It has just returned to London, where it is showing at the Apollo theatre in the West End.

Jerusalem first came to me in 2003, when I was too busy running the Globe. Back then it was called St George's Day. The pages were written with an old typewriter and it was very raw, so different to anything else. Sometimes, instead of characters' names, there was just pages of dialogue. It reminded me of how much as a kid I had resonated with adults outside of society, how much I liked their language and stories.

I got busy with other projects and they saw other actors. »
