Trivia (10)

Owned a small island off the Irish mainland for a number of years, and then sold it.
Born into a Protestant Anglo-Irish family and the daughter of a British engineer, she and her 3 sisters were educated by private governesses in County Mayo.
Many sources claim she is the aunt of actress, Amanda Redman, but this seems highly unlikely. Joyce Redman (who was born to a British father and an Irish mother, whose maiden name was McCormick) had no brothers and grew up in Ireland; while Amanda Redman's father Ronald (1929-1980) was born in London to parents from Yorkshire (his mother's maiden name was Butler) and grew up in the UK.
Graduated from an acting course, and became an Associate Member of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), London.
Mother of Crispin Redman.
Is interred at Faversham Cemetery in Kent, England.
Acted on stage with the Old Vic, the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre and the National Theatre.
Her wedding to Charles Wynne-Roberts took place in New York.
Born in Newcastle, Northumberland, England (some obituaries incorrectly stated Newcastle, Ireland) to a British father and Irish mother, she and her three sisters were raised in County Mayo, Ireland.
Had a twin sister, Rosalind (1915-2012), who died two days prior to her.
