Was awarded the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award by the Government of India for his life-time contribution to Indian cinema in 1987.
Owns the famous children book Chandamama printed in nearly 10 Indian languages.
Stopped producing movies after the death of his friend and partner Chakrapani.
Was awarded the prestigious Raghupathy Venkaiah award by the State Government of Andhra Pradesh for his outstanding contribution to Telugu cinema in 1987.
Was awarded the honorable doctrate by Srikrishnadevaraya University and Sri Venkateswara University.
Younger brother of director B.N. Reddi and elder brother of cinematographer Konda Reddy B.N..
Due to health problems is keeping a low profile and currently staying in Chennai, had stopped making movies after the death of his friend and partner Chakrapani. [April 2002]
