‘Supergirl’ Might Just Be the Show the World Needs Right Now — PaleyFest 2017

Moderator Kevin Smith began the panel for the CW’s “Heroes & Aliens” PaleyFest panel with a heartfelt story of the impact comic books had on him as a kid, and the skepticism he felt when he first heard about the CW’s production of “Arrow.”

“It took me a long time to buy into the CW shows,” recalled the director and comic book superfan. But he’s clearly gotten over it, given that he has gone on to direct for both “The Flash” and “Supergirl.”

“I found something in these shows that I haven’t felt since I was a kid.” Smith revealed. “These people are telling amazing stories — that deserve to be honored, as we’re going to honor them right now.”

Kevin Smith Helps Celebrate the CW’s ‘Arrowverse’ at PaleyFest

19 March 2017 10:33 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

PaleyFest and the Dolby Center were taken over by superheroes on Saturday.

Stars and producers of the four shows that make up the CW’s “Arrowverse” — “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” and “Legends of Tomorrow” — hit the stage in front of fans in a panel moderated by uber-fan Kevin Smith.

Smith, who has directed episodes of both “The Flash” and “Supergirl,” took a moment to acknowledge that him being onstage at the panel would be the closest he’d get to the Oscars, which are held at the Dolby Theatre, before explaining how comic books set his morality.

“It’s appropriate that we gather to honor these shows on Saturday — my morality was built on Saturdays,” Smith said. “Saturday morning cartoons taught me to be a better person and also Saturday mornings reading comic books taught me to be a better person. It was up to Saturdays to build my morality and they did that. I »

Now that Prometheus’ true identity of Adrian Chase has been revealed to viewers – and very shortly to Oliver Queen and the rest of the major players – we’ve arrived at the stretch of the season when things are about to get real on Arrow in very short order.

Evidencing that notion is the recently released synopsis for “Disbanded,” the eighteenth episode of the current season, the name of which understandably causes us to worry for the future of Team Arrow. Sure, titles can often misdirect or have dual meaning, but knowing that Prometheus’ deadly game will cause Oliver to be desperate enough to seek out the Bratva’s help will no doubt cause those closest to him to question his ethical decisions. It certainly didn’t help when Artemis bounced earlier this year due to similar reasons. »

1 March 2017 6:00 PM, PST | The Hollywood Reporter - TV News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - TV News news »

[This story contains spoilers from Wednesday's Arrow, "Fighting Fire With Fire."]

Arrow's big bad of the season has finally been unmasked, but Oliver (Stephen Amell) still has no idea that his biggest enemy is masquerading as his ally.

The CW's superhero drama unmasked serial killer Prometheus and it's none other than District Attorney Adrian Chase (Josh Segarra), the man who befriended Oliver through their shared work in the Mayor's Office. What's more, he helped get Diggle (David Ramsey) out of jail and always stood up for what's right — at least on the outside. In reality, he was hiding his intentions »

'Arrow' Star and Ep Dish on the Shocking Prometheus Reveal and 'Psychological Torture' to Come for Oliver

1 March 2017 6:00 PM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

Warning: Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you haven’t watched this week’s Arrow! If you know Prometheus’ true identity, carry on.

Arrow’s season five big bad was finally unmasked on Wednesday’s episode, revealing the villainous Prometheus to be none other than Star City District Attorney Adrian Chase!

The no-nonsense Da had seemed to be one of Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) closest allies as mayor, but after a battle with another Arrow unknown, Vigilante, Chase (Josh Segarra) removed his Prometheus mask to reveal his true identity as the cold-blooded killer whose only goal is to ruin Oliver’s life after suffering a loss at the hands of his season one persona, The Hood.

“We really did want to, this season, build a villain that would be a dark mirror for Oliver, in the tradition of the comic books,” Arrow Ep Wendy Mericle explained on a conference call with reporters last week. “Really honoring »
