Designer Nishka Lulla is all set to tie the knot with businessman Dhruv Mehra in Bangkok, Thailand. Before jetting off to the destination wedding, the duo hosted a brunch in Mumbai for family and friends. Not only is Nishka herself a well-known name within the fraternity, she also has a long-lasting relationship with the fraternity, given that mum Neeta Lulla is also a designer, and a National Award winning one at that! The event had attendees in a mix of Western and Indian attires. Given that it was a pre-wedding brunch, it was also hard to judge what should have been the dress code.
The bride-to-be sported a design by her mother. If you know Nishka’s style, you know she’s an ultra girly-girl, so the fact that she went all out in this light pink princess-gown came as no surprise. Seems like the event actually had a Disney/Fairytale theme, »

The veteran actor Anupam Kher, who was in the news recently because of his play Mera Woh Matlab Nahi Tha, was all set to work with Sanjay Gupta in the much talked about film Jazbaa. However, the present day status is that, Anupam Kher is no longer doing the film. The film's co-producer Nitin Keni reasoned that there were lots of shuffling of dates from their end. When Bollywood Hungama spoke to Anupam Kher, he said, "We were not able to match up with each other's' availability of dates. But, I am hopeful of working with Sanjay Gupta in the near future." Meanwhile, news is that Jackie Shroff has now been roped in for the role, which Anupam Kher was supposed to do. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, Jazbaa is written by Kamlesh Pandey and Robin Bhatt and has cinematography by Sameer Arya. The film has been in the news because »
What started off as a blame game between a filmmaker and a producer has taken an ugly turn. Miffed with the constant allegations thrown towards him, Sanjay Gupta has now turned his financial dispute with producer Vinod Bachchan over a shelved project, into a legal battle by moving the Bombay High Court. The director has challenged the non-cooperation directive issued against him due to a complaint filed by Vinod Bachchan at the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (Fwice). It happened so that producer Vinod Bachchan and director Sanjay Gupta were to join hands for a project starring Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani apparently titled Midnight Hero. According to Vinod, Sanjay had narrated the script of this film to him and they had decided to rope in these stars for the same. However, after Abhishek's refusal, Sanjay had proposed the idea of them working together for Mumbai Saga. »

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has taken over Cannes. The word on the Croisette is that the world's most beautiful woman is in town, and everyone wants to get a glimpse of her.
The locals lining up against the barriers of the red carpet outside the Palais des Festivals peer into the glittering world of the stars who descend en masse on their otherwise sleepy, seaside town. They tell me in their lilting French accents: "We don't know much about Bollywood, but we've come to see the beautiful woman from India, Aishwarya."
They may not have seen her movies, but the French people know and love Aishwarya and have embraced her as their own. Cannes has been unfaltering in waging a love affair with Aishwarya that has lasted 13 years, and today that romance is in full bloom. When she takes to the red carpet, it's as if the whole city has come to a standstill. »
No surprise here—Cannes Film Festival events dominated the red carpet scene this week. Stateside, Yaya DaCosta dropped jaws in a vivacious jade Christian Siriano dress at the American Ballet Theater's 75th Anniversary celebration. Back on the Cannes carpet, Chanel Iman shut it down in a scarlet Donna Karan Atelier gown. You already know that anytime Diane Kruger steps out, she's »
The former Miss World, who completes 14 years representing L’Oreal Paris at the Cannes Film Festival, has always stunned us with her red carpet looks. This year, Aishwarya has walked the red carpet from May 17th and May 20th; and chaired the AMfar gala on May 21st.
Before her red carpet appearance, Aishwarya also attended the Variety and Un Women’s panel discussion, during the 68th International Film Festival on Saturday (May 16) on gender equality in a floral Sabyasachi creation along with other panelists including Salma Hayek, Elisabeth Karlsen, Christine Vauchon and Parker Posey.

When the movie was announced, it was believed that Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would play the lead roles in Shuddhi. Later reports suggested that Hrithik Roshan would star with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Then Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ramleela jodi Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were supposedly going to play the leads. And most recently, Salman Khan was finalized to play the lead role. But now Karan Johar has confirmed that his Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania cast Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt would be a part of Shuddhi.
Varun Dhawan replied, "Thank you Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan I promise to make you proud #shuddhi"

After Besharam and Roy, Bombay Velevt is Ranbir Kapoor's third film in a row that bombed at Box-office. And it has certainly shaken the actor, who has been applauded for his sterling performances and gave some really good films in the past.
Ranbir recently in one of the interviews poured his heart out saying that 'there's a sense of insecurity and I don't know what's happening with my career'. While we definitely understand the plight of his mind and the ongoing situations, all we have to say is there is a dawn after every dusk! There is still more to go and look forward to. The charming actor doesn't need to lose heart and hope.
Another year gone and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan proves yet again that she’s a force to be reckoned with on the red carpet. With 14 years of Cannes-red-carpet-walking-experience with her now, she has arisen above the pressures of making a mark at the event and now it just looks like it’s a walk in the park!
Aishwarya started her stint at Cannes this year with a Un Panel Discussion event where the topic was gender equality. Panellists Salma Hayek, Elizabeth Karisen, Christine Vauchan and Parker Posey joined her. The first appearance itself was a winner on the fashion blogs with her all Sabyasachi look winning her a lot of points. The floral creation was an instant favourite as was the soft wavy hair and striking lips.
She took to the red carpet for premiere of Carol the following day in a Cannes favourite designer, Elie Saab. Not quite sold on »

She does not not call it a come back but we cinema enthusiasts probably will continue to mark Jazbaa as a comeback of sorts as it is the return of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to the silver screen after a five year hiatus. (Yes we know she’s been busy brand-ambassador-ing her way to glory in this hiatus period but we still did not get a movie!)
So apart from stunning us in various elegant gowns at Cannes 2015 and performing her Loreal brand ambassador duties, Aishwarya’s attendance at the festival had more to it. She also unveiled the Jazbaa first look. Unless you have been living under a rock you’re probably already aware that Jazbaa is a Sanjay Gupta (Kaante) directorial which also stars Irrfan Khan, Jackie Shroff and Atul Kulkarni in title roles. There is some buzz that Shabana Azmi is also part of the project and that »

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Jazbaa is the first Hindi film where Sachiin Joshi is just present in the form of a producer and not as an actor. "This film required me as a producer so I was there to support. It's not necessary that I should act in every film that I produce," Sachiin states.
He further adds what really induced him to take up the project, "Biggest highlight of the film was its script and it excited me to come on board. The script of Jazbaa is universal. Sanjay Gupta films are always different from the regular Bollywood stuff. He is known for stylized action. Aishwarya's role is challenging as it is set in the realistic space. Initially, I was thinking how things will fall. But it's going to come as huge surprise. It has high octane action sequences. It's about mother-daughter relationship, where Ash plays a lawyer."

Salma Hayek blasted the movie industry for giving up on women both behind and in front of the camera at a Variety-hosted event Saturday afternoon at the Cannes Film Festival.
“For a long time they thought the only thing we were interested in seeing were romantic comedies,” said Hayek, who appears in the Cannes drama “Tale of Tales.” “They don’t see us as a powerful economic force, which is an incredible ignorance.”
Joining the conversation about gender inequality in Hollywood were actresses Parker Posey (“Irrational Man”) and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (“Jazbaa”), as well as producers Christine Vachon and Elizabeth Karlsen (who both worked on “Carol”). The event was co-hosted by the U.N. Women’s HeForShe campaign, and moderated by Variety co-editor-in-chief Claudia Eller and U.N. Women head Elizabeth Nyamayaro. Variety publisher Michelle Sobrino welcomed the crowd at the Radisson Blu hotel.
Despite the success of films like “The Hunger Games, »
