Interview: Pollyanna McIntosh on Let Us Prey

23 May 2015 1:28 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

david j. moore chats with Pollyanna McIntosh, star of Let Us Prey

The Scottish / Irish co-production Let Us Prey (out on DVD and Blu-ray May 26th in the U.S.) is a hardcore horror / action hybrid that pits the devil himself (played by Liam Cunningham from Game of Thrones)against a handful of sinful policemen and criminals, whose day of judgment is upon them. With only a single policewoman named Rachel (played by Pollyanna McIntosh from The Woman) without a guilty conscience to stand up to him, the devil will have a hell of a night reaping souls. Part homage to John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13, and part occult thriller with heaping doses of blood and gore, Let Us Prey will appeal to fans of both horror and action, and the film’s star McIntosh takes time to discuss her role in the film here.

TV Review: ‘The Following’ Series Finale Leads To Another Dead End (Spoilers)

18 May 2015 7:15 PM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Barring another wildly improbable twist of the real-life variety, “The Following” aired its last episode Monday, having been canceled by Fox. And the two-hour finale only drove home how the program squandered its assets, with the end coming two years and many dozens (if not hundreds) of killings too late.

Initially promising with the casting of Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy, “The Following” overstayed its welcome, a victim of lazy writing and a decidedly grim streak that treated human life cavalierly even by the standards of primetime crime shows. That included borrowing repeatedly from movies (from “Psycho” to “The Fugitive”), while the life expectancy of FBI agents who weren’t series regulars was shorter than the red-shirted crewmen on “Star Trek.”

By all rights, the series should have ended along with the cat-and-mouse game that pitted Bacon’s reluctant Agent Ryan Hardy against Purefoy’s suave serial killer Joe Carroll. »

The Following: Cancelled by Fox; No Season Four

8 May 2015 9:37 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

It turns out that Fox's Kevin Bacon TV show didn't have a big enough "following" to ensure a fourth season. The network has cancelled The Following after three seasons.

The current season of The Following picks up a year after former FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) and his team put serial killer and cult leader Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) back on death row. The rest of the cast includes Shawn Ashmore, Jessica Stroup, Michael Ealy, Sam Underwood, and Zuleikha Robinson.
