Yesterday we dropped our Fall TV Preview, featuring twenty-five shows that are worth putting on your radar, but that’s just scratching the surface. There are plenty of options to choose from, and one to certainly keep an eye out for is “Tin Star,” which is crossing the pond from the U.K. to land on U.S. shores.

Amazon picks up Tin Star starring Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks

Deadline is reporting that Amazon has snapped up the U.S. rights to Tin Star, a revenge thriller series written and created by Rowan Joffe (Brighton Rock, Before I Go To Sleep), which stars Tim Roth (The Hateful Eight) and Christina Hendricks (Mad Men).

The series from Sky Atlantic is described as “a tale of the corruption of innocence and of murder, grief and all-consuming revenge [and] tells the story of Jim Worth, a former British detective now small town police chief who brings his family to the tiny and tranquil town of Little Big Bear for a better life.”

Tin Star will air on Amazon Prime in the U.S. and Sky Atlantic in the UK later this year, with a supporting cast that includes Genevieve O’Reilly, Abigail Lawrie, Oliver Coopersmith, Christopher Heyerdahl, Stephen Walters, Ian Puleston-Davies, Roark Critchlow, Sarah Podemski, Ryan Kennedy and Kevin Hanchard.

Homeland's David Harewood joins cast of ITV's Beowulf drama

David Harewood has joined the cast of ITV's upcoming epic drama Beowulf.

The Homeland star will play warrior Scorann in the channel's re-imagining of the classic tale.

He joins the previously announced Kieran Bew as Beowulf, William Hurt as Hrothgar and Joanne Whalley as Rheda.

Created by James Dormer, Tim Haines and Katie Newman, the 13-episode series is set in the mythical Shieldlands, a dangerous place populated by both humans and fantastical creatures.

Also starring in the project are Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey), David Ajala (Black Box), Ian Puleston-Davies (Coronation Street), Ellora Torchia (Indian Summers), Gisli Orn Gardarsson (Spooks), Susan Aderin (The Last Detective), Kirsty Oswald (Ripper Street), Laura Donnelly (Outlander), Edward Hogg (Indian Summers), Alex Price (Father Brown), Jack Rowan (Silent Witness) and Itoya Osagiede (Okora: The Prelude).

Filming on Beowulf began last month in North East England.

Cast Set For ITV's "Beowulf" Event Series

William Hurt, Joanne Whalley ("The Borgias") and Kieran Bew ("Da Vinci's Demons") have joined the cast of ITV's thirteen-part drama series "Beowulf".

Also onboard are Ed Speleers ("Downton Abbey"), David Ajala ("Black Box"), Ian Puleston-Davies ("Coronation Street") and Ellora Torchia ("Indian Summers").

Created by James Dormer, Tim Haines and Katie Newman, the story is set in the mythical Shieldlands and is based on the classic Danish poem. Bew will play the title role while Dormer writes and executive produces.

ITV announces cast for Beowulf 13-part series

ITV has announced casting for its new Beowulf series.

Da Vinci's Demons actor Kieran Bew will play the title role in a 13-part adaptation of the classic myth.

The Incredible Hulk's William Hurt, Downton Abbey's Ed Speleers and Wolf Hall's Joanne Whalley will also star in the series.

Rounding out the cast are Ian Puleston-Davies (Coronation Street), David Ajala (Black Mirror), Ellora Torchia (Indian Summers) and Alex Price (Penny Dreadful).

Created by Strike Back's James Dormer with Primeval's Tim Haines and Katie Newman, Beowulf is set in the mythical Shieldlands, a place of spectacle and danger populated by both humans and fantastical creatures.

Dormer said: "Hundreds of years ago our ancestors listened to the story of Beowulf because it was a great adventure story - it scared them, thrilled them, made them laugh and cry. But they also listened because they recognised themselves and their fears in it.
