After Roger Delgado, he was the second actor to play the Master, the Doctor's greatest enemy, in Doctor Who. He played the role in the 1976 serial "The Deadly Assassin". He was succeeded in the role by Geoffrey Beevers, Anthony Ainley, Gordon Tipple, Eric Roberts, Sir Derek Jacobi and John Simm.
