50 Cent Developing Superhero Drama With Starz After Extending Overall Deal

Starz has extended its overall deal with Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and is currently in development on superhero drama “Tomorrow, Today” with the music mogul, Variety has learned. The new agreement extends Jackson’s existing overall deal for another year into September 2018, in order to develop new projects for the network with Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television, Inc.

“Tomorrow, Today” is the first project in development from Jackson and G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. The concept is based on a screenplay written by Jackson, who will executive produce the project and also serves as an executive producer on Starz drama “Power.”

Starz Develops ‘Dirty Girls Social Club,’ ‘Pussy Valley’ & ‘Teresa’ TV Series

Starz is tripling down on diverse projects with female voices. The pay cable network announced Monday that it is developing “Dirty Girls Social Club,” based on Alisa Valdes’ best-selling novel, “Pussy Valley,” from playwright Katori Hall, and “Teresa,” based on a highly-rated, award-winning Mexican telenovela.

The new Starz projects were revealed during the network’s portion of the Television Critics Association press tour.

“Dirty Girls Social Club” is a half-hour series following six diverse professional women living in New York City who have known each other since college. Prince Royce has joined the cast of Hulu’s “East Los High” for the series’ fourth season, Variety has learned exclusively.

The multi-platinum recording artist will be seen in a recurring role, playing Vincent, the successful coach of the Jefferson Park Dance crew, which is the Bomb Squad’s main competitor. The sexy newcomer arrives just in time to test the drive and talent of the East Los High dancers, while also tempting the desires of their coach, Ceci (Danielle Vega).
