The season-six premiere of Grey's Anatomy begins shooting on July 15, and casting directors are currently looking for actors to play the guest roles. One role in particular listed in the Anatomy season premiere casting call may catch fans' eyes: Producers are looking for someone to play a Catholic priest in his 60s. Could this possibly mean that Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek (Patrick Dempsey) are finally getting married? Or could someone be receiving last rites—like perhaps Dr. George O'Malley, since actor T.R. Knight is not returning for season six? Hmmm... And what other characters can we expect in the season premiere? The producers are also looking for an 18-year-old male patient,...

A leading lady of "Grey's Anatomy" gets the promotion. Chandra Wilson aka Dr. Miranda Bailey is going to direct an episode of the medical drama this season although details surrounding this are still scarce. Wilson's directorial debut will mark the first time a star of the series takes charge behind the lens.
Creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed on her Twitter that the production of sixth season will begin next week. Meanwhile, E! Online is spilling a scoop that actually there was another actor who negotiated to direct an episode. This unnamed actor also wanted a more creative and personal freedom in the show which will alter his or her contract.
In another "Grey's Anatomy" news round-up, Ellen Pompeo is expected to continue her work as Meredith despite her pregnancy. The actress who is due this fall reportedly will not get a baby break because, according to E!, ABC did not want

Since the Emmys have ditched the judging panels to determine nominees, letting the lineups be chosen strictly by an outright popular balloting of the TV academy's acting branch, that means the outcome should be more predictable than usual. Expect last year's champ Glenn Close ("Damages") and 2007 winner, 2008 nominee and double Oscar victor Sally Field ("Brothers & Sisters") to return. Ditto perennial nominees Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: Svu") and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"). Voters usually drive a stake through the Emmy hopes of the stars of vampire shows (poor "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar was never nommed despite shrieks of outrage from every TV critic), but Anna Paquin ("True Blood") has two pluses: being on HBO and owning an Oscar ("The Piano"). Past Oscar champ for the same film, Holly Hunter, was nominated last year for "Saving Grace," so she'll probably be back. That leaves one more slot open,

Any scoop to get us Mer-Der fans through the dog days of summer? Perhaps some "baby talk" about Grey's writing in Ellen Pompeo's pregnancy? — Hillary
Matt: Both Chyler Leigh and I are of the mind that Grey's Anatomy would be hard-pressed to accommodate Pompeo's pregnancy, if only because of the timing. "As far as I know they are not [writing it in]," Leigh told me, pointing out that by the time the ABC serial resumes production, "Ellen will be, like, seven months [along]." The only way I see it happening — and at least one source allows, "It could go either way" — is if Season 6 picks up five or six months after the recent finale.
