Jupiter Ascending International Trailer Gives Us a Little More Sean Bean; Plus New Images

5 hours ago | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Perhaps this is just what happens when a movie’s release date is pushed back from July 18, 2014 to February 6, 2015 at the last minute, but I believe this new Jupiter Ascending international trailer is the film’s sixth trailer.  It’s a wonder there’s still more new material to show off, but this latest piece actually gives us more from Sean Bean’s character than ever before. Even with the abundance of promos, I can’t say I’m sold on this one just yet, but when you’ve got the Wachowskis and an incredible cast coming together to bring such strikingly unusual material to screen, that’s more than enough to get me in a theater seat.  Hit the jump to check out the new international Jupiter Ascending trailer.  The film also stars Channing Tatum, Mila KunisEddie RedmayneDouglas BoothTuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, Tim Pigott-Smith and Doona Bae. »

Downton Abbey's Matt Barber: 'Atticus is the nicest man on the planet'

31 October 2014 2:00 AM, PDT | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - TV news news »

While many of Downton Abbey's characters remain stuck in the past, Lady Rose (Lily James) has always been the constant bright spark to bring them into the 20th century, and now she finally has a serious love interest to join her.

Matt Barber joined the cast of the ITV period drama this year as Atticus Aldridge, the Jewish son of Lord and Lady Sinderby, whom she meets after bumping into him in town.

The 31-year-old actor has built up an impressive theatre credit list - including Pygmalion opposite Downton's Michelle Dockery in 2008 - and has since appeared in the likes of Being Human, Bert and Dickie and NBC's Dracula.

Digital Spy had a chat with Barber about playing one of the most pleasant characters on television and where his story may lead.

Is Atticus everything that he seems?

New Jupiter Ascending Trailer Sends Us into Space Politics and Space Explosions

25 September 2014 11:03 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow have released a new trailer for the Wachowski Siblings' Jupiter Ascending, and it finally goes in depth with the plot.  The basic story centers on Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a recent Russian immigrant who scrubs toilets for a living, but then discovers she has the genetic signature that makes her next in line to be Queen of the Universe.  Channing Tatum plays an ex-military half-werewolf half-albino hunter tasked with tracking her down.  However, this trailer goes far beyond that description and introduces us to the space politics involved as well as plenty of new footage showcasing finished visual effects that are mighty impressive not so much for how they look (which is perfectly fine) but for how they function.  This looks like a big, crazy, space opera with the hint of unique madness only the Wachowskis can provide.  I'm still not sure if the movie will be any good, »

'King Charles III': Theater Review

12 September 2014 6:58 AM, PDT | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

Giving the current British royal family a witty Shakespearean remix, this inspired speculative drama strikes a tone somewhere between affectionate satire and treasonous polemic. Newly transferred to London's West End following a sell-out debut run at the Almeida Theatre in the spring, King Charles III is anchored in a powerhouse performance by Tim Pigott-Smith as Prince Charles. But he is buoyed along by a colorful throng of real-life supporting characters including Prince William, Prince Harry, Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker-Bowles and even a ghostly cameo by the late Lady Diana Spencer. Director Rupert Goold and writer Mike Bartlett

Warner Bros. reveals full San Diego Comic-Con schedule

With the San Diego Comic-Con International fast approaching, Warner Bros. has revealed its full schedule for the con, which includes movies such as The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, Mad Max: Fury Road, Jupiter Ascending, Into the Storm and Godzilla, as well as a range of TV shows including The Big Bang Theory, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Arrow, Gotham, Constantine and The Flash. Oddly, there’s no mention of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so if those rumours about a teaser trailer and a big DC Cinematic Universe announcement are true, WB must be trying its best to keep it a surprise. Warner Bros. has released a "new" trailer for Jupiter Ascending, new in that it now says it's coming out in February 2015 rather than July. One thing is for certain, the more studios spread out those blockbusters the more marketing the movie blogs will have to post year round. yt id="TLyk00gFPdQ" width="500" Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. New 'Jupiter Ascending' Trailer Goes Pew, Pew, Pew

21 May 2014 12:00 PM, PDT | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

I have no idea what to expect when it comes to the Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending. Since I do my best not to watch trailers, only skim them for images such as the one above, I can only judge this thing from what I've seen, not heard, and it looks like they threw the whole pot of sci-fi pasta at the screen just to see what would stick. As with anything Wachowski, I expect it to be different, but will it be any goodc The plot centers on Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis) who is tracked down by Caine (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, because her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos. New International Trailer for Jupiter Ascending Starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis

20 May 2014 8:41 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

If you're like me, you don't need a lot of marketing to convince you to check out a project from Andy and Lana Wachowski.  Unfortunately, as of late most of the world isn't as tuned in to the Wachowskis as you and me, as evidenced by the poor box office returns of Cloud Atlas.  Hopefully their new sci-fi epic Jupiter Ascending changes all that, thanks in part to the star power of Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, along with the upswing in recent marketing.  We've already seen the first trailer for the film, followed by an international trailer, and second domestic trailer.  We got a look at some new images and the film's first clip not too long ago, and now a new international trailer has dropped.  Enjoy it in all its unfettered majesty! The first clip for Andy and Lana Wachowski's latest sci-fi weird-out, Jupiter Ascending, premiered over the weekend featuring Mila Kunis and Channing Tatum having a chat over Tatum's gravity boots, which seem to be quite different than those in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. Set for release on July 25, Jupiter Ascending centers on Jupiter Jones (Kunis) who is tracked down by Caine (Tatum), a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, because her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos. Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy), Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), Douglas Booth (Noah), Tuppence Middleton (TV's "The Lady Vanishes"), Doona Bae (Cloud Atlas), James D'Arcy (Hitchcock) and Tim Pigott-Smith (Alice in Wonderland) co-star. Watch: Channing Tatum Shows Off His Gravity Boots In First Clip From ‘Jupiter Ascending’

12 May 2014 6:44 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Even with “Cloud Atlas” and its nearly three hour runtime, it seems the Wachowskis still had some sci-fi theatrics and leftover prosthetics ready to go for another round. Mainstream appeal be damned, they’ve boldly prepared “Jupiter Ascending," a futuristic fairy tale of sorts starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, and after two trailers that both boggled and intrigued, we’ve got the first actual clip from the film. Following a young house cleaner (Kunis) in Chicago who’s given the news by a bounty hunter that she’s the next heir to the universe, the Wachowski’s latest returns to their particular epic approach, and a sizable cast joining Tatum and Kunis: Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D’Arcy and Tim Pigott-Smith. The first clip (via MovieWeb) from the film also showcases the directing duo’s odd and earnest sense of humor, as »

Channing Tatum Explains His Gravity Boots in First Clip from Jupiter Ascending

11 May 2014 9:13 AM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

The first Jupiter Ascending clip has landed online for writers/directors Lana and Andy Wachowski’s ambitious sci-fi adventure.  The story follows Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a recent Russian immigrant who scrubs toilets for a living, but then discovers she has the genetic signature that makes her next in line to be Queen of the Universe.  Channing Tatum plays an ex-military half-werewolf half-albino hunter tasked with tracking her down.  This debut clip is a quiet scene between Kunis and Tatum’s characters, as Tatum’s hunter explains how his gravity boots work before they board an invisible spacecraft.  The film still looks like a whole lot of fun and wildly inventive, and I can’t wait to see what crazy surprises the Wachowskis have in store. Hit the jump to watch the first Jupiter Ascending clip.  The film also stars Eddie Redmayne, Sean Bean, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, James D’Arcy, »

Jupiter Ascending - Second Full Trailer

27 March 2014 | GeekTyrant | See recent GeekTyrant news »

This is the second full trailer for The Wachowskis' Jupiter Ascending. I really wanted to be excited for this movie, it looks like it would be a movie that I would be stoked about, but I'm just not. The special effects and visuals look incredible, but the story seems very weak. Of course I'm still going to see it, I just won't be in any rush. My expectations are low, so maybe it will surprise me. It definitely looks like a unique movie with Channing Tatum riding around on anti gravity roller skates.

The movie also stars Mila KunisSean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Douglas Booth, Tuppence Middleton, Doona Bae, James D’Arcy, Richard Pickren, and Tim Pigott-Smith. Here's the synopsis:

Warner Bros. and Village RoadShow have premiered a brand new trailer and the first two posters for the Wachowskis Jupiter Ascending starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis set to hit theaters on July 18. The sci-fi epic looks like exactly something you'd expect from Andy and Lana Wachowski and I have to give it to WB for continuing to spend money and place their faith in the sibling filmmakers.
