Yasen Peyankov products
The Bulgarian actor arrived in the United States in 1990 and as almost every immigrant startet as a dishwasher in Chicago but very soon found his place as a co-founder of the newly established European Repertory Company.
Since 2002 Yasen Peyankov has been one of the members of the Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble. Some of his notable stage appearances are: Cherry Orchard; Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune; The Time of Your Life (also Seattle, San Francisco); The Royal Family; The Duel (produced by European Repertory Company in association with Steppenwolf); Hysteria; Morning Star; The Berlin Circle; Time to Burn.
Among his awards are: 2002-2003 Fox Fellowship; Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Supporting Actor (Morning Star); Joseph Jefferson Nomination for Best Actor.
He adores theatre and the work there and some of the best moments in his life was when he saw his name among the admitted students at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts of Bulgaria.
He and Peter Christensen were nominated for a 1999 Joseph Jefferson Award for New Adaptation for "Ivanov" at the European Repertory Company in Chicago, Illinois.
He was awarded the 1999 Joseph Jefferson Award for Actor in a Supporting Role in a Play for "Morning Star" at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois.
