London-born art director in Hollywood. Began at 20th Century Fox (1935-40). Briefly at RKO (1943), then settled at MGM from 1944 until his retirement twenty years later. Trivia:

Following the early death of William A. Horning in 1959, he was interim head of M-G-M's art department for about a year, and was, following the usual Hollywood custom of the time, given a shared credit on all films and TV episodes produced during that period at the studio. However, the appointment was not a permanent one; George W. Davis then took over and held the post for over a decade. See more »
