Summertime is approaching, and with it come the training activities that the Media Business School (Mbs) organizes every year in Ronda, one of the most charming cities in Southern Spain.
Aware of the difficult situation that the audiovisual industry is undergoing, the Mbs has recently announced a 20% discount to a limited number of participants for both courses: Mega Plus · European Master in Audiovisual Management and M&ID · Marketing and International Distribution .
This year the Mbs is organizing the 16th edition of Mega Plus, a ten month, project-based, master’s program that will kick off in June. The course is geared to young professionals wishing to “fast track” their careers in the entertainment industry through specialized training in audiovisual company management and content production.
During the course, participants develop a business plan for a project or a company with the support of over forty international experts of the entertainment industry. Through this process, they understand how to manage an audiovisual project from inception to exploitation, including how to: choose; develop; finance; produce; package; sell and distribute a project; develop and implement an audiovisual project business plan; position a business plan to exploit and maximize IP value and revenues across the value chain.
The Mega Plus Master’s program is based on the combination of residential training (3 months), online tutorials and internships (6-7 months). According to the Mbs , “This mix has proven to be the best method to develop participants’ professional skills and to optimize the project proposal they participate with."
Some of the companies where recent Mega Plus graduates have interned are Luckybird, Hanway, Avalon, Chouchkov Bros. or Zentropa.
Mega Plus has a 90% job placement rate.

“I have been appointed president of Nsr Scandinavia group from 1st of May 2014. This would have not been possible without me participating Mega Plus 2011. And this is what our chairman of the board said me loud. It´s kind of funny how things just sometimes happen in your life. One thing leads to another. It´s like a chain. I´m very proud to say I´m Mega Plus 2011. When managing our day-to-day rental business I´m benefiting every day at work from what I learned at Mega Plus.”

Rebelión Terrestre · Founder, Producer and Screenwriter
“Nowadays it is extremely important for schools to offer theirs attendants a real vision of the industry and the marketplace, moreover in a field such as cinema where it is not easy to keep our feet on the ground.
M&ID will take place from 20th to 24th July. This 5-day project-based course is designed to optimize the visibility and maximize revenues from the exploitation of audiovisual projects across markets.
The course is geared to entertainment sector entrepreneurs, producers and company executives with experience in production, marketing, distribution, exhibition, sales or acquisitions.
What characterizes M&ID is the practical environment where the course takes place, helping participants to understand, devise and apply traditional and digital-driven marketing and distribution strategies to their course projects with the support of the Mbs’ collaborating experts.
During the course, participants learn how to identify audiences and understand consumer behavior. They identify new and niche markets and business models, and devise market and festival strategies.
At the end of the training cycle participants will have gained the ability to make informed choices on market positioning and the real distribution potential of their future projects, as well as an understanding of the tools, skills and collaborators needed to devise and execute compelling marketing campaigns. They will have also extended significantly their international professional network.

“I attended the course in 2011 and it was so well structured that in few days we received a wide overview of the distribution and marketing mechanisms inside the market. All the teachers were absolutely professional and the atmosphere very informal. All the staff organized classes and free time with great attention."
